League Playing Rules

A) NCAA playing rules with modifications. In addition, the board will determine and decide those rules that will be enforced and deemed in the best interest and spirit of the GSAFL


B) High school blocking rule, below the waist or cut block allowed at the line of scrimmage only and on the man directly in front or one man over, Backs must block high on rushes from outside the tackles.


C) No more than two (2) coaches can go on the field during time-outs.


D) Player numbering rule not enforced, players in violation must report their position to officials upon entering the game.


E) The use of a kicking block is allowed for field goals and extra points.


F) The NFL chuck rule will be enforced, no touching of a receiver past 5 yards from the LOS.


G) The college tiebreaker system will be utilized when games are tied after four quarters of regular play.


H) Any missed or blocked (Pat) Point after touchdown is ruled down and cannot be returned for a score by the defense.


I) A player must be downed by contact.


J) 4 time outs per half


K) 1, 2 min. warning in the 4th quarter


L) Kicker can change ball for field goals and extra points, only if they do not disrupt the flow of the game
