ALAMEDA COUNTY KNIGHTS 2008

Our Mission

The mission of the Alameda County Knights is to first make a positive impact on its players by giving them an opportunity to be a part of an organization that will maintain a structure geared toward developing their individual productivity both on and off the field. And secondly, to establish a nationally recognized semi-professional organization that promotes our local Amateur leagues growth.

The Scoop

What was decided at our last team meeting was that each position will have a Team Captain that is not to be confused with game captains. Game captains will be decided by both the Team Captains and individual's performance in practice and announced at the end of practice prior to game day. Lastly all players will be held accountable by paying a consequence for being late or absent from any required practices or meetings with out having given any notice to a team captain or the team owner at least 24 hours prior.

New Players

Any perspective player can call the TEAM HOTLINE 510-533-6375 or download and fill out a "Player Registration form" located under "Handouts" on the website menu list. Players can submit their registration forms in person or @ Team workouts or via e-mail as we will be accepting New Players until APRIL 5TH 2008

KNIGHT VICTORY: KNIGHTS 32- RAIDERS 26 OVERTIME

This past weekend the Knights faced a Modesto Raiders team that jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter. But the Knights held their ground, dug themselves out of a hole and came fighting back. Before the game even started the Knights found themselves short handed on players. Big credit to the coaching staff (Coach Ed. Coach J.P., Coach Socrates & Coach Jones)  to bring together a game plan and work together.

The offense for the 2nd week in a row, came alive with some clutch plays. Genaldo Vital who was sick the whole game, pounded the rock for tough yards to keep the chains moving. QB Jason Heard and the WR core of David Davis, Bart, Vic Walters & Sean Grant came thru with clutch catches to keep the drives going and end it with some scores. Also lets not forget the legs of Jason Heard that produced key first down plays. The O-line did a good job in giving the QB time to throw the ball.

Defensively the Knights started out slow but soon adjusted to the Raiders offense. Key players on defense were Mitch Lockett(int), Socrates Vergara (int), Anthony "Beast" Bias(sack), Mike "Big Daddy" Pines(sack),Sean "Gamebreaker" Grant (int), Chris Mavridis & Quincy Meadows. As a whole, the defense rose to the occassion and made the stops to give the ball back the offense to win the game.

A Special Thanks to Tara "Biz" Burton who has helped supply the Knights of gatorade/water/first aide supplies, ice packs, etc. for the past 3 games.  Thanks Biz!!

CONGRATS KNIGHTS ON HARD FOUGHT GAME!

Tuesday, April 22
KNIGHTS 28 SHARKS 8

CONGRATS TO THE KNIGHT TEAM ON THE VICTORY OVER THE SANTA CRUZ SHARKS.

THE OFFENSE HAD THEIR BEST DAY SO FAR THIS SEASON. CLUTCH CATCHES BY THE WR CORE OF SEAN GRANT, DAVID DAVIS,ANTHONY BARTHALAMEW, ANDREW KNAPP & VIC WALTERS MOVED THE CHAINS,WHILE THE RUNNING GAME CAME UP WITH BIG RUNS FROM FIRST YEAR BACKS ANTHONY CORPUZ (TD) & KEITH DIXON. QB'S ALEX SMITH & VETERAN QB JASON HEARD COMMANDED A GOOD ATTACK THRU THE AIR, TO LEAD THE TEAM TO THE END ZONE.

THE DEFENSIVE UNIT CAME TOGETHER AS A TEAM AND HAD KEY DEFENSIVE STOPS THRU OUT THE GAME. NEIL METRILLO LED THE WAY WITH AN INT. FOR A TOUCHDOWN. THE D-LINE & LINEBACKERS PLAYED WELL AS A GROUP AND THE DEFENSIVE BACKFIELD ALLOWED CLOSE TO NOTHING IN THE AIR.

CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN KNIGHTS ON THE VICTORY.
