Tony was an All Catholic League and All-State baseball player in High School. He received a baseball scholarship to Northwestern University. The Wildcats were ranked in the top 20 in two of the seasons he was there. Drafted by the A's in the 26th round upon graduation.
He played at all minor league levels. He also played ball in South America. Retired due to career ending shoulder injury in '92. Upon retiring, became a volunteer pitching coach for IWU and has coached several seasons of youth baseball and softball!
