Coach Collins grew up on the fastpitch diamonds watching his dad play for many years before starting his own fastpitch career in 1982. He played with Bloomington Budweiser, the Bloomington Hearts, Bloomington Beer Nuts, as well as the Bloomington Arby's/Builders teams. He was player/manager for Arby's/Builders from 1990-1995. Named Most Valuable Player of the 1992 Illinois Class A State Tournament in which Arby's won the title. He was a coach for Men's South team at the 1994 Olympic Softball Festival in St. Louis.
After retiring in 1996 from playing softball he became the Bloomington High School Varsity head coach in 1997. BHS set school records for wins in three of the five seasons he was there. He left BHS to spend more time with his kids activities/sports.
This team's goal is to provide the players and parents a fun softball experience while preparing the kids for Junior High ball and beyond. We want to teach them how to play the game hard, learning new things all the time, while continuing to keep it fun!
