Volunteers Needed
Bartlett Little League is the largest Little League in the nation administered under one board. The League can only be as good as its volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers for the auxiliary board, coaches, commissioners, managers, rainout coordinators, team parents, post season tournament directors, post season volunteers, and umpires. Player Evaluations
Mandatory Player Evaluations for the upcoming season will be held at Eastview Middle School, located on Oak Street near Lake Street.
You will receive a letter in the mail with the date and time for your evaluation around the first week of January.
All 9-12 year-olds who were not on a Major League team in 2009 must attend their Player Evaluation session to help Managers with a more accurate placement for the upcoming season. Each Player Evaluation session will involve a group of 5-7 players and will take approximately 20 minutes, during which you will field a few grounders and pop-ups, take a few swings (including a bunt), run the bases, and throw a few pitches. Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the assigned time so you can warm up.
Please note: Even if your player does not attend evaluations, they may still be drafted, and must play on the team that drafted them. Players are required to attend so that managers can make the most informed decisions on who to draft.
American League Players Date: January 23, 2010
National League Players Date: January 30, 2010
Uppers and Makeup Date: February 6, 2010
Come dressed for baseball. A glove is required. Bring your bat and/or helmet if you want. Wear gym shoes—baseball shoes (cleats) are not allowed (and not safe) in the gym. We apologize to those families with more than one player being evaluated for the inconvenience of having evaluations scheduled at different times of the day. Evaluation times have been scheduled according to each player’s age. This method allows all players to receive a more accurate evaluation by being placed with players in their own age group.
If it is impossible for you to make your assigned time please send an email to bllbaseball@yahoo.com, or call the Bartlett Little League hotline at (630) 830-4553, before January 15, 2010. You will then be assigned a time on the make up evaluation date. To help us arrange a new scheduled time on the make up date of February 7th, please leave a clear message proving your player’s name and the phone number where you can be contacted.
