BARTLETT LITTLE LEAGUE: 2014 Divisions

Select Season:
T-Ball (Age 4-6)
Tee Ball is a non-competitive, instructional league designed to provide youngsters the opportunity to learn, develop and practice the fundamental baseball skills. One parent from each team will umpire each game, and all players will hit the ball off a tee. It is recommended that 6 year olds who have not played Tee Ball before begin in this division before moving up to the Minor A division.

Minor A (age 6 -7)
This is a league designed to play by Tee Ball rules with Coach Pitch. It is non-competitive and instructional, and provides these players with the opportunity to continue learning fundamental baseball skills.

Minor AA (Age 7-8)
AA plays under Little League rules with some local adapted rules to balance fairness and competitiveness. No standings are recorded, nor are championship awards presented at this level. Players pitch during odd innings and pitching logs are recorded; managers pitch to players on even innings. Any player who is league age 7 and has played 1 year in Bartlett little League’s Minor A program is eligible to participate in a pre-season evaluation to determine if they have the necessary skills to compete at the Minor AA level. This evaluation is voluntary and at the discretion of the parents if they want their child to participate. The evaluation date and process will be determined by the Bartlett Little League Board. Those who are deemed to have passed the evaluation will be placed on a AA team for the upcoming season. Once the child has been placed on a minor AA team, they will not be allowed to return to the Minor A program, except for safety reasons.

Minor AAA (Ages 8-10)
AAA plays under Little League rules. Standings and pitching logs are recorded at this level. Championship games and awards are also incorporated at this level. Team rosters are determined by player evaluations and player draft. Any player who is league age 8 is eligible to participate in a pre-season evaluation to determine if they have the necessary skills to compete at the Minor AAA level. This evaluation is voluntary and at the discretion of the parents if they want their child to participate. The evaluation date and process will be determined by the Bartlett Little League Board. Those who are deemed to have passed the evaluation will be eligible to participate in player evaluations with the rest of the 9-12 year olds. A player league age 8 and deemed eligible to participate in the player evaluations is not guaranteed to be drafted to the Minor AAA league, it only makes them eligible for draft.

Intermediate (50/70) (Ages 11-12)
The 50/70 division moves the pitching mound back to 50 feet and bases to 70 feet (compared to 46/60), allows for leadoffs, pickoffs, drop third strikes, and full baseball rules. This division will play against Bartlett teams and will travel to other teams within District 13 who are also implementing this division. All 11 and 12 year olds will play in this division
