Dear Parents and BJFL Participants: 

We hope that all of you are looking forward to another exciting season of Brownsburg Jr. Football.  The Board of Directors have been busy the past several months planning the upcoming season and we are excited to get things kicked off with player registration.   

New for 2008

As most are aware, we will no longer be playing on the tackle football fields located across from the high school.  These fields are being reconfigured and will soon become the new BHS track stadium. 

While we search for a new home for BJFL, we are excited that the school system has partnered with us for the 2008 season.  Our tackle leagues will play at the West Middle School facilities while the flag leagues will continue to play on the high school practice fields.  This arrangement will require a few tweaks to our normal game schedules; however it should provide a very fun atmosphere for all.   

We are also very excited to announce the addition of a 3^rd and 4^th grade girl’s flag football league. 

Registration Dates, Information, and Fees

To register your child, simply download and complete the registration form and bring it to one of the following registration session at the Brownsburg Recreation Center:

• Saturday May 17^th  (9:00-12:00)
• Tuesday May 20^th  (5:30-8:30)
• Thursday May 29^th  (5:30-8:30)
• Saturday May 31^st  (9:00-2:00)

 As most of you know, we need a copy of your child’s birth certificate. If you are certain that you have provided a copy in the past, then we can use that copy from our files. If you have not provided us with a copy or are unsure if you have provided a copy, then please bring a copy at the time of registration. We will have a photocopier available at registration. 

Registration fees will be structured the same as last year and include a jersey for both flag and tackle leagues that the kids can keep at the end of the season.  2008 fees are as follows: 

• Flag $85 per participant
• Tackle $135 per participant

 Volunteer and Coaches FormsEach year, we have hundreds of parents who volunteer their time to make BJFL football possible.  As in the past, we will require all Managers, Assistant Coaches, Team Moms, Board Members and others who have direct contact with our players to pass a background check.  

Each volunteer must complete a BJFL Volunteer Application form. This form is available on the web at www.brownsburgfootball.com and will also be available at registration. Please fill the form completely with your entire legal name. Also, you will need to attach a photocopy of your Indiana driver’s license or another valid government identification card that includes your photo. 

For parents who wish to volunteer as a coach, we need the form titled 2008 Coach Data Sheet to be completed. This form is also available on our website or at registration. 

Football Clinic

As in past years, we will be partnering with Coach Comer and the high school on a football clinic.  This year the clinic will be held on July 21, 22, 23 and 24^th.  Sign-up forms for the clinic will be available at registration. 

Cheerleading

Cheerleading has been an important part of our league and will continue in 2008.  Look for additional information in the coming weeks. 

League Draft Dates

As in past years, teams in minor and major tackle will be selected by a draft.  Draft evaluations will be held on July 22 and 23.  The draft will occur following evaluations in late July.  All players, flag and tackle, will be notified of their team and coach by July 27.   

First Practice and Opening Day

Practice for all leagues may begin on July 28.  Opening day is scheduled for August 16.
