This charitable event, hosted by the BHS Alumni Association, raises money for the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, Student Activity Fund and the school's Athletic Department.
The Buchtel High School Alumni Association Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, with an established endowment fund through the Akron Community Foundation.

Buchtel's Proud & Rich History
Buchtel High School was constructed in 1931 with additions being made in 1955, 1971, 1984 and 1990.
The lyrics to the Alma Mater were composed by Agnes Simmons, Class of 1935 & Virginia Cooper, Class of 1953 and the music by Harry Chalmers, Class of 1934.
The school is named after John R. Buchtel, one of Akron's leading industrialists and philanthropsts of the time.
John R. Buchtel, born in 1822 in Green Township (southern Summit County), was the founder of Buchtel College, which is now The University of Akron.
