The BBYL is made of of youth players from the towns of Marblehead, Swampscott and Nahant, and plays in the Massachusetts Bay Youth Lacrosse League. The mission and philosophy of the MBYLL are as follows:
Our Mission:
- Create a weekly match schedule for member teams to compete.
- Promote the growth of the game of lacrosse throughout Eastern Massachusetts.
- Cultivate and assist additional towns to start youth lacrosse programs.
- Train coaches and officials.
- Establish and lead efforts creating organization and guidelines to support towns in providing a safe and meaningful experience for all.
Philosophy:
There are no standings kept, no league championship or playoffs. We play all players as equally as possible with the goal of teaching the sport and providing a fun experience for all involved. We police ourselves in the effort to provide an outlet for kids that has not been swept up in the pressure filled, win-at-all-cost mania that is too present in today's youth sports.
