From the Ramapo LL Webpage - Wednesday:
Ramapo keeps making strides with yet another exciting victory on the road to Williamsport! They are now state champs, and it looks like nothing can get in their way! Yesterday vs. Vestal in the state championship game J. Brennan pitched a miraculous two hit shutout. He had a excellent array of fastballs mixed with tricky off-speed pitches. He shut down a well-hitting Vestal team by keeping them off balance in the batter's box. Another key factor in the huge win was the mammoth offensive production by the "home team" Ramapo. J. Brennan and R. Aviles started off the game with leadoff walks. This set the stage for a blistering base hit by R. Picardi on a 3-2 curve! B. Durkin added to the rally by knocking in Aviles and Picardi with a scorching double off the right-center field fence! By the end of the inning Ramapo had a 3-0 lead! In the 2nd inning J. Brennan hit a two-out double and kept up his hitting streak. This was followed by a clutch RBI double by R. Aviles to score Brennan and stretch Ramapo's lead to four runs!
The score wouldn't change at all from that point and Ramapo pulled out a 4-0 win! They now move on to the regional championship where they will get a shot at the "Mid-Atlantic" title. It will be held in Bristol, CT. Their first game is Sunday at 4:30 PM. Additional details will be provided shortly.
This important victory caps off a dominating weekend for Ramapo in which they outhit opponents 20-6 and only let up 1 run!
The game played yesterday will be aired on the YES network at 7 PM on Friday. Remember to keep supporting Ramapo and "stay on the bandwagon"!
from the Vestal Website:
Vestal A 11-12 Finishes 2nd in State
Vestal lost 4-0 last night to Ramapo to place 2nd in the state. Vestal was unable to muster any offense against Ramapo lefty Jimmy Brennan. Vestal lost for the first time in 13 games facing elimination. Erik Lambe was touched for 3 runs in the first.
Ramapo got 2 hits and scored 3. Ramapo added another in the 2nd on a double by Brennan and a RBI double. That was the end of the scoring for the game. Pat Talbut relieved Lambe in the 4th after a walk and a hit batter. Talbut retired the side after a walk and pitched a 1-2-3 5th.
Pat Talbut had two hits for Vestal. Vestal completed the most succesful Williamsport season ever finishing 2nd in the state. The team showed their class and character by accepting defeat graciously although disappointed. Good luck to Ramapo in the Regionals.
The players, coaches, parents, and fans had a great ride and an experience that will never be forgotten. Thanks to all of the support from fans, friends, and family. The hosts Auburn did a fantastic job hosting the state tournament as did District 6 with the sectionals

11-12 All Star Tournament
comments on championship game: Rolando Paulino won the game 5 to 1. Game was closer than score as RP hit a 3 run homer in the 5th and added 2 more in the 6th. Unless someone in the East has a powerhouse team I don't see them losing. Matter of fact they turned 2 double plays 6-4-3 and 4-6-3, hard to do on 60 foot diamond.
