With only 8 players present tonight, the Astros fell to the Venom 23-22 in a come-from-behind victory for Venom in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Though we only had 8 players, the boys fought with every fiber of their being to win this game. Each boy had at least 3 hits with a couple of boys (Smith and Gomez) banging out 5 hits each. Defensively Vargas was a virtual backstop at catcher and Mcintyre scooped up everything thrown his way at first. Outfielders Dunnam and Nodine covered quite a bit of ground tracking down balls tonight and both contributed at the plate with some clutch hits as well.

Outfielder Talbot was like a tazmananian devil running the bases and shortstop Kruse was his usual self with big hits galore and stellar defense in the field.

Assistant coaches Nodine and Talbot were veritable geniuses as base coaches tonight. The boys ran the bases better than they had all year.

With one more regular season to play, the 'Stros are expecting to get on a roll going into the post-season tournament. With a record of 4-10-1, including 6, count 'em 6, one-run losses or ties, just a break here and there would have turned that record around.

Extremely proud of how these boys have improved over the course of the season, the coaching staff is looking forward to the remainder of the season and even next year.
