"Coaching, teaching, and guiding today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders through youth sports"
Welcome to Bucs Basketball - 2009-10 Winter Season
We're looking forward to another great season of Bucs Basketball in 2009-10. We all demand GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP of each other - players, coaches, and spectators. Parents are also reminded that a responsible ADULT must attend all practices and games of players 9 and below, and that no siblings or friends are permitted to roam the school hallways without ADULT supervision. We are in danger of losing what little gym time we have if school property is damaged during our allotted times. ALL GAMES on Saturday Dec 19 and Sunday Dec 20 ARE CANCELLED due to weather closings by the County. 2009-10 TEAM PICTURE SCHEDULE - Click "News" on the left menu.
Important Links on the left menu: Regular Registration for 2009-10 is over: If you have want to check on any possible openings, email Dan Hill at bucsbasketball1@yahoo.com.
Inclement Weather & Gym Closings
Anne Arundel County Rec & Parks controls opening & closing of gyms due to inclement weather. Check their online cancellation notice or call their hotline 410-222-7318. > General Guideline - if schools close early or for the entire day, gyms are CLOSED that evening. If it is a Friday, the gyms would be closed Friday night but may still be open on the weekend - check the County website or hotline after 7am on Saturday morning. When in doubt, contact your team's head coach.
An example of what Buccaneers Basketball is about ...
We received this letter about a member of our Club - Pat Ernst - who has volunteered his time for many years to referee our youngest boys and girls. February 24, 2005 Mr. Dave Degreenia, There are a few in this world that affect the lives of so many, and never really know it. They dont look for glory or rewards; they just love doing what they do. These are quietly and solemnly known as our unsung heroes. Though maybe only a few, their actions inspire and have a lasting affect on many. I was privileged to have witnessed such a person in action on the weekends, at Sunset Elementary School. His name is Mr. Pat Ernest. A very calm person, dealing with children. It was very evident that he loved what he was doing. A referee was the first impression, but more, much, much more! Definitely a Teacher. A person who put his heart and soul into what he was doing for the children, and loving it. Stopping the basketball game and explaining to them their mistakes, so they would understand and play the game, the proper way. Parents and friends alike can all feel proud to have such a person to inspire and instruct their children. I may be only a grandparent of Zachary T. Wingate (student), but from what I observed, I know, the children are better, because of Mr. Pat Ernests effort and dedication. Sincerely yours, Mr. Robert Krystofiak |
