A collaborative effort by the Avon Lake Soccer Organization and Avon Lake High School designed to develop well rounded student-athletes who reside in Avon Lake and who have the goal to play at the high school level. Our goal is to develop players to become the best that they can be on and off of the field.
Purpose of IDP
To meet these goals, the Interscholastic Development Program's purpose is to teach and develop players between the ages of 10-14 to become problem solvers, strong teammates, and understand a style of play.
We will do this by:
- Creating goals for each age group based on U.S. Soccer's Best Practices.
- Establishing an environment that is player development friendly. Player development will not be sacrificed for a results only approach.
- Constructing quality training sessions where all players have the opportunity to learn and grow.
Sessions will focus on:
- Tactical Insight
- Functional Technique
- Soccer specific fitness
- Soccer psychology and competitiveness
