My Site News: Former Austin GameBreaker/Austin Regulator playing in AFL2

Former Austin GameBreaker/Austin Regulator playing in AFL2
From April, 2007:

Arkansas center Derik Stotland turned a missed field-goal attempt into a touchdown with 9.3 seconds remaining in the first half, and Amarillo failed to capitalize on two huge breaks early in the third quarter.

The result was a 63-55 Twisters victory Friday in front of 3,005 fans at Cal Farley Coliseum.

The final margin proved to be about as close as the score might indicate. The teams matched touchdowns during most of the game before Arkansas pulled away toca two-touchdown advantage late. Each team scored twice during the final 40 seconds.

Stotland's TD near the end of the first half came from 4 yards out after kicker David Carlton missed a long field-goal try from inside his 15-yard line.

The ball took a funny bounce off the net, and two Dusters failed to cover it.

Stotland, who centered the ball on the field-goal attempt, raced downfield and picked up the ball at the Dusters' 4.

He got a huge push into the end zone that gave Arkansas a 28-21 halftime advantage.

Amarillo's Pat Lindsey intercepted a pass by Arkansas quarterback Brian Villanueva on the third play of the third period. However, the Dusters failed to pick up a first down and were forced to settle for a 20-yard Jacob Felton field goal that brought them within 28-24.

On the ensuing kickoff, the Dusters recovered the onside attempt and had a first down at their 11. Again, the offense failed to get a first down, and Felton nailed a 40-yard field goal to bring Amarillo within 28-27.
