Wet day on Logan Martin to begin new season

Feb. 18th was a soggy day on Logan Martin and the season began the same way last season ended with the winner coming from the rear deck. You have to be dedicated to this sport to fish in the weather we fish in and this tournament showed that dedication with 21 participants. We also had low water levels which made for tough launch but all in all we had a good time and caught some good fish. Rounding out the top 3 we had Terry Pennington with 5 fish weighing 10.62 lbs., next we have T.R. Fuller with 5 fish for 12.39 lbs., and taking the win from the back of the boat was Jamie Fuller with 5 fish for 12.53 lbs.

Congratulations to the top winners and also to Ray Willet for the big bass of the day with 5.17 lbs.

Good Fishin,

Blown away at Martin

The day started off nice and calm with clear skies but by mid morning the wind picked up and kept getting stronger up to about 25 mph by afternoon. We did have good participation with 22 fishermen and 12 of them coming in with a limit of bass. Although the weight was below normal for this time of year, we still managed to catch 83 bass for a total weight of 118.29 lbs.

The heaviest bag went to our first place finisher Jimmy Butler with 10.11 lbs., Second place was T.R. Fuller with 8.72 lbs., and finishing off the top three was Scott Henderson with 8.10 lbs. It was a good day, everyone caught fish. Congratulations to our top finishers of the day. Next stop will be Lay Lake in April and we expect to see some big numbers.

good fishin,

Beautiful Day on Lay Lake

Early April is a great time to be on any lake and Lay is no exception. Crisp spring morning with a layer of fog which delayed blast off a few minutes and then bloomed into a gorgeous day. Although the weight was down from previous years, we still managed to catch 45 bass weighing 95 lbs. amongst 20 competitors with the big fish of the day going to Ed Pearce with a 4.50 lb largemouth. Although the majority of information is held in tight security, we do know that 4 out of the top 5 had over 10 lbs. Kip Balkcom came in 3rd place with 10.69 lbs., Lewis Hill in 2nd with 10.96 lbs. and in 3rd in the Mr. Bass points, and leading in Mr. bass points and winner of Lay Lake with 11.46 lbs. is Scott Henderson.

Let's not forget about our non-boaters either. Ray Willet is leading in the non-boater Mr. Bass points with Jamie Fuller running a close 2nd and Dalton Cook right on their fish tails in 3rd.

Congratulations to all our winners and everyone for having a good, safe tournament.

Next tournament will be our 2 day on Eufaula May 5-6, water is down and the bites are tough but I think we'll have a good one, see you there.
