Attitudes finish 3rd in District 9, possibly toughest district in state.
Our girls gave it their all and finished District with a third place. Normally third would be OK, but in this district third means you are in the top four teams in the entire state. We had our chances to finish even better, but a few untimely errors on the base paths and in the field ended those hopes. All in all the girls had a very good D-9 tourney and beat all of the teams they were supposed to and played the other two harder and better then they were expected to by anyone outside of the Attitudes. Congratulations Girls!!!
As for the players of the tourney, those honors go to Bailee Hall on the defensive side. She stopped everything that came her way and even some that we didn't think she could get. On the offensive side, to a lot of people's surprise it was Gracie Nowlin. Whether it was leading off or batting at the bottom of the order, she came up with big hit after big hit, but none bigger than the double she hit with two strikes on her against the Wildcats to secure a third place finish.
Keep it up girls and State could be a very rewarding tourney!

Attitudes gearing up for District.
The Attitudes have stepped up their efforts in order to be ready for District this weekend. The Coaches added a few practices in hopes to keep the girls sharp since league play is done. Check back this weekend for updates.
GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!!

Attitude's League Team finishes season with 1 loss.
The Attitudes only had one loss the entire league season. Why is this news? It's news because they played 10U in most of the league games. Also, it is the best record in the park. Great job girls! The teams out of Arch Street and Sheridan did good to score on the girls and had a hard time recording an out before our girls scored 5 each time. The 10's at our park were better competition, but could beat us only once between them. Great season girls, keep up the hard work!

Attitudes awarded 6th place at Nationals.
The Attitudes came in sixth at Nationals, but feel they had a real chance to finish in the top four if the tourney would have been ran in a better manner. After going 1-1 in pool play, the strongest pool of the three, the girls didn't get to play another inning. Pool play was completed by all teams by 6:30pm but the Tournament Director and the ASA would not start bracket play knowing that bad weather was just hours away. If the powers that be would have done the right thing, at least 12 games could have been completed by 10:30pm. A few of the teams would have been finished, but they didn't and we were awarded 6th. We are not happy with the ASA's decision but there is nothing we can do, other than accept their decision.

East End Fest called off after second attempt to complete.
After securing three fields in Sheridan, East End Fest was called when rain and lightning forced a stoppage of play a little after 1pm. Every team, except for the Lady Bandits, got in two games and were fine with the tourney being called. Thanks to Clarence Howard and Kevin Martin for giving up their Saturday to help with umpire duties. No trophies were awarded since we had three teams without a loss! A coin flip or runs allowed just would not seem fair in awarding winners. Thanks to all that participated!

Rain, Rain go away! East End Fest postponed after completion of day one.
Another rainy weekend forced Board Members to postpone East End Fest and move the games to Sardis. After getting all of Friday nights games in the Board thought they might dodge the rain early but it wasn't going to happen. About two innings into the first five games of the morning it was called. We will however complete play in one week at Sardis, Board Members are meeting with Sardis Officials to finalize the details on Sunday.
On a better note, The Attitudes won both of their Friday night games without much of a problem. The only problems were Shelby Coats was limited in her playing time, with a injury to her glove hand thumb. And Anna Smith Missed most of both games with tightness in her chest, but doctors say she is going to be just fine for upcoming games. Ladies take it easy and get well we need you on the field!

Attitudes SCRAP their way to victory in Nashville, then pull off rare double in Cabot.
What a difference a week makes, the weather this weekend was perfect and so were the Attitudes. The girls took Nashville over and made it seem as if it was their home field. They stormed through the bracket with the closest game being a 10 run blowout until the final game. The Championship game was against the home town S.W.A.T. with no if game. The girls came out firing but then went cold for a couple innings, I think the 10:50pm start had a lot to do with that. With no time left they held the S.W.A.T. scoreless too bring home first place and an undefeated tourney.
Next we went to Cabot to finish what we started the week before. We were already in the Championship game, just waiting on the Lady Bandits to finish off the other teams to play for the title. The game started great with Big D winning the toss and assuring us final at bat, which we needed. The Lady Bandits jumped on the Attitudes early with a 5-2 advantage after one and 5-4 after two, that means they didn't score in the second. Then it was 9-8 Attitudes and the final at bat was looking LARGER then ever. With no time left the Lady Bandits had it tied, but you guessed it we had final at bat. Big D told Gracie she had one chance and one chance only to lay down a slap bunt, she did and you could not have asked for a better bunt. Shianne moved her too third then Bailey Hall knocked in the game winner. 10-9 same as the week before. Great job Ladies and great job Lady Bandits as well.
OK, now for the top players this week. Defensively it has to be Dyanah Rippeto she threw out two against the S.W.A.T. they then refused to run on her the rest of the night. Offensively it has to have been Reagan Burnside she came up with big hit after big hit when we had to have them.
And players of the week from the two Cabot weekends go to: Anna Smith for great and consistent play at shortstop and Allison Nix for her bat over these games she hit everything hard and was on base 95 percent of her at bats for the tourney.
