My Site News: Celtics Fall to Timberwolves, 13-11

Saturday, February 8
Celtics Fall to Timberwolves, 13-11
The Timberwolves scored with 48 seconds on the clock to take a 13-11 lead over the Celts. Two drives later the horn sounded and the Timberwolves remained up, 13-11.

Matthew and Darion pounded the Timberwolves on the boards, collecting at least 17 rebounds between them. Matthew finished with a season-high 11 rebounds (it might have been even more because he collected them so quickly and repeatedly it was hard for MacKenzie to keep up).

Matthew also contributed seven of the Celtic warriors points--including a layup AND ONE from the free throw line. Great job, Matthew.

Matt and Spencer picked up one bucket each to round out the Celtic scoring.

Andre excelled defensively, taking on a special assignment in the fourth quarter--to shut down the Timberwolves "Like Mike" #23. And shut him down is just what Andre did. #23 was frustrated throughout the fourth quarter by the aggressive, sticky defense of Andre (the Giant).

Other outstanding performances came from Brandon, Spencer, and Matt, with two rebounds each; followed by Corey, Cristian, and Andre with one rebound each.

The McGaw displayed excellent footwork and pivoting throughout the contest. McFarland demonstrated his smart Celtic play running the new inbound play. Corey hustled great, and his defense was outstanding.

Great effort all around. Aggressive, full hustle, first-to-the-ball Celtic play today.
