Little League changes 2008 "Cotton Classic" tournament for 9&10 and 11 year old Baseball Teams
Mike Witherwax emailed me today informing me that the Charter/Tournament Committee at the Little League Headquarters in Williamsport has changed the criteria for the "Cotton Classic" tournament for 9&10 and 11 year old teams. Gone is the "Nation Wide" ability to invite teams. We now are only able to invite 10 states to participate. This change is as much of a puzzle to the tournament management as it is to potential participants. This tournament will continue to be conducted by District Four at the Blytheville Sportsplex for as long as we can get it approved for coverage by the Little League Insurance.
I would like to thank all that supported this tournament from the beginning and hope that you won't allow this set back effect your continued participation.

NINE year old Program changing to Live Kid Pitch in 2006
After careful consideration and many conversations after the Nine year old State tournament this year at Blytheville the Nine Year old program will be changed to live kid pitch starting in 2006. Many people have voiced an opinion in this matter. Some of the folks who commented did not and will not have children participating. This made their opinion have allot of weight. We shall go to a new format for the tournament that will be more in line with the 9&10 International Tournament. Look for more exciting things for our NINE year olds in 2006.
