The girls answered with a couple of quick runs in the first ITB, then held on to win 6-5. In the semi's they again jumped to an early lead against the Extreme and held on to win 5-4. In the championship game the ladies faced the Tornado's who defeated one of tournament favorites the Tucson Inferno. The Tornado's came out ready to play. Their pitcher was outstanding and they played some solid defensive behind her to take a 2-1 lead into the 7th inning. TCS 18U-Super Diamonds-Baum Championship
The 92Storm had to battle the heat to win the 18U division. On Saturday they played and won four straight games to get first in their pool and a bye into Sunday's bracket play. With the bye came an 11:45AM start time against the Caliente. The Caliente played some great defense for the first five innings, but the Storm players finally broke the game open in the sixth inning scoring five runs and then played some solid defense to advance to the championship game with a 7-0 victory. In the championship game they came up against the Tornado's who's only loss in the tournament was a 9-1 defeat to the young Storm ladies on Saturday. The game started out like Saturday's game with the Storm jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning. The Tornado's did a better job of putting the ball in play, but couldn't make a serious offensive threat against the Storm's stingy defense. The Storm had some timely hits to tack on some more runs and won the game 6-1 and the tournament championship.

ASA 14U-Regional Champions
The 92Storm ladies won the 14U regional championship Saturday at Rose Mofford. In their first game Friday night against the New Mexico Fire they started slowly, but picked up steam as the game progressed and rolled to a 15-1 victory. The second game of the tournament they had to face their long time rival the Hotshots. The Storm girls had lady luck on their side and pulled out a 6-5 victory despite making numerous errors. This moved them to the championship game again against the Hotshots who came out of the losers bracket and had some revenge on their minds. In what was a back in forth game the Hotshots prevailed 3-5, and forced the "if" game. The Storm scored early with Hotshots capitalizing on some miscues to take the lead back. Then in the fifth the Storm bats came alive and the ladies opened up the game with a 9-4 lead. The Hotshots rallied in the seventh, but came up a little short with Storm holding on to win the game 9-8 and the regional championship.
Congratulations to both teams for playing so hard late into the night.
