Irish Sports Dome Session #1 - Oct 4 through Dec 13
We're reaching out to determine interest from players in grades 8-12 in playing on Dome ball this fall in session #1 which runs from October 4 through December 13. This session - coordinated by the VAA Traveling Fastpitch program - is aimed at giving players interested in competing at the high school level a chance to play year-round. The league plays doubleheaders on Sundays at the Irish Dome; practice time is yet-to-be-determined and is not included in the league fees. Participation in this league will cost $200 per player (assuming a 12 player team). Coaching has yet-to-be-determined.
In the event that more than 12 players express interest, team selection will be made based on: AVHS varsity or JV players from last year; traveling program participation; year in school; and position players (pitchers, catchers).
We need to submit our team registration by September 1. If you express interest, it will be assumed that you are committing to play. Feel free to email me a call with any questions.

Commitment to Traveling Fastpitch Softball
Other sports and camps should be scheduled around softball. Traveling softball requires a significant time commitment. To assure ample playing time only 12 players are placed on each team. Players attendance at all practices and games is important and expected. Unless otherwise excused by the coach, all players are expected to attend all practices, league games and tournaments. Attending another sport practice or game over softball is an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences will result in a reduction of playing time. Vacations should be planned accordingly. Consistent unexcused absences will result in a reduction of playing time and possible exclusion from the program in subsequent years.
FUNDRAISER INFORMATION
2008 Fundraisers are currently in the works! Please contact your age group liaison if you have any suggestions/ideas to contribute to the fundraising effort. Remember, fundraising accounts for 70% of the funds used to support VAA Fastpitch!
