2012 Boot Camp directed by Varsity Coach Joe Wentworth

The 2012 Sunset Boys Boot Camp will be Monday August 6th through Friday the 10th. Cost for the week is $85. The camp will be done in a doubles style format with a session in the morning (9-10:30am) and one in the afternoon (1-2:30pm). The morning session will be running and the mid-afternoon session will be ball/skill work. Participation in this camp is not mandatory and does not determine if your son makes a team. The camp does give your player a leg up and prepares him to perform his best for the conditioning camp and try-outs. Brochure NOW available on-line in the HANDOUT section to the left. Please mail sign up form to Coach Joe Wentworth at 13370 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton OR 97005. Please make checks out to Joe Wentworth.  Camp will be from 9-10;30am and 1-2;30pm.  If you can't attend a session or a day please let the coach know as to when and how long you will be absent.

Sunset Soccer Conditioning Camp

Sunset Soccer Conditioning Camp will be the week of August 13th through the 17th. Conditioning camp is just that a conditioning camp before try-outs. This camp is not mandatory but is STRONGLY RECOMENDED to help get players into shape before tryouts and the fall season.  This camp follows a daily doubles format as well; however do not plan on touching a soccer ball during this time. We will once again be running in the morning (9-11:30am) and running in the afternoon (1-2:30pm). Heat will determine the time and length of each session to prevent physical illness. This camp will challenge your players physical condition and prepare him to perform at his best for try-outs. It also gets the boys in shape for a grueling high school season in Oregon's most competitive high school league.  If you attended Bootcamp then conditioning camp for free, otherwise camp will cost $40 to attend. Times will match the Boot-Camp morning session 9-10:30am and 1-2:30pm. Conditioning camp handout available in the handout section to the left.

Sunset Men's Soccer Try-Outs

Try-outs are MANDATORY for your son to make a team. Try-outs are August 20th through the 24th. Your player will be trying-out for the following teams: Varsity, Junior Varsity (JV), and Junior Varsity 2 (JV2). Clarification: JV2 is comprised mostly of freshmen and is limited to sophomores; juniors cannot make JV2. Boys trying out for soccer at Sunset High School may be cut from the program since there is limited space on each team.  All players are eligiable for varsity.  All players during tryouts will be required to run 3 miles in 24 minutes or less.  they will need to show up physically fit and ready to participate in tryouts.  Players need to show up properly equiped e.g. Shorts, socks, shinguards.  Bring plenty of water and stay hydrated before tryouts as it is typically very warm out in August. Tryout time tbd cloer to the dates above.

Varsity Schedule is posted on http://www.mertoleague.org Pick Sunset under the Highschool portion, soccer(boys) under sports, and Varsity under level.
