Apex Sting: Welcome

Thursday, August 18
Welcome to the Apex Sting Fastpitch Softball Organization

The mission of the Apex Sting fastpitch organization is to provide fastpitch softball instruction and competition for girls under the age of 18.  The organization is committed to offering girls the opportunity for emotional and physical development through organized competitive softball.  Our organization will give them the opportunity to develop relationships and gain confidence while learning valuable life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, self discipline and commitment. The girls will be encouraged to set goals and develop leadership and communication skills that will hopefully help them achieve life goals as they mature into adults.

The Apex Sting is a 501 (C) (3) organization. Please contact one of the head coaches for donations or sponsorships.

The Apex Sting organizations started in October of 2004.  A single 12 and under team was developed with girls from a local recreational league and played in one fall tournament.  In calendar year 2005, the 12 and under Apex Sting team played in six fall tournaments.  In January of 2006 an additional 14 and under team was formed.  For the calendar year of 2006 we had the two teams and played the spring and fall seasons. In June of 2007 a third team was formed for the 16 and under age group.

In 2011 our plans include a 12u team, 14u team and a High School 16u/18u age group.

Our organization has future plans to fulfill our mission by providing instruction and guidance to players and coaches.  We plan to compete in local and regional tournaments offered by other sports organizations that are, like us, also fostering opportunities for amateur athletes.  Each team will practice weekly, and on weekends when not in competition.  Practices usually consist of a two hour session.  Each age group will participate in approximately twelve to fifteen tournaments around the state that are sponsored by one of the following governing bodies:

  • United States Fastpitch Association (USFA)
  • National Softball Association (NSA)
  • Amateur Softball Association (ASA)
  • World Fastpitch Connections (WFC)
  • Pony Baseball/Softball, Inc.
