Hitting: Keep your eye on the ball

In order to hit the ball you have to see the ball.  So please keep your eye on the ball all the way until it hits your bat.  You should be looking right at your bat as you make contact with the ball.  After the ball hits the bat you can look up and watch your ball fly.

Running to 1st base:  We have four commands to remember when running to 1st base.

1. "Run Through" -This means that you should run right through 1st base.  Do not look anywhere else but straight ahead and run like crazy.  You should end up around 5 to 6 feet past the bag.
2. "Take a Look" - This means that you should round the bag at 1st and take a look at second.  Listen to the coach and he will let you know if you should run to 2nd or come back to first.
3. "Go TWO!" - This means you should just turn on the jets and run as fast as you can to 2nd base.  As you run to 2nd, look at your 3rd base coach and he will let you know what you should do next.
4. "BACK BACK BACK!" - This means you need to go back to 1st base and wait for further instructions.
