American Volleyball Camps: FAQ's

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  

 

1. How do I REGISTER for camp?

Online registration is now open or you may download a mail in entry from to register by check. (link to online registration and mail in form are on the Online Regitration page). 

 

2. What is the CANCELLATION policy?

If for any reason you need to cancel a camp registration before June 15, 2012, you will receive a refund minus a $75 administrative fee per camp cancelled. If you have paid by credit card online, you will need to contact American Volleyball Camps to process your cancellation. Processing fees will not be refunded.

Cancellations after June 15, 2011 ~ no refunds will be issued.

 

3. What should my child PACK for camp?

Commuters-socks, kneepads, court shoes, flip flops, t-shirts (short/long sleeve), shorts, spending money for lunch OR a bring a sack lunch and spending money for the camp store.

Overnighters-the following items will be provided for you in the dorms: pillow, blanket, fitted sheet.  You will need to bring an alarm clock, toiletries, pajamas, and the items listed above in the commuter section.

 

4. Where do I go for CHECK-IN/DROP OFF on the first day of camp?

Commuters: check in on the first day of all camps will start at 8:00am in the lobby of Bender Arena.  Camp begins at 9:00am each day.  Drop off for subsequent camp days is at 8:40am.

Overnighters: arrive at 7:45am on the first day of camp in the lobby of Bender Arena. Once you are checked in, you will be escorted to the dormitory to drop off your personal items and get your room key.

   

5. Is PARKING available at the University? 

 

SETTER CAMP/HITTER CAMP/LIBERO CAMP:  August 3rd - 4th

The parking structure attached to Bender Arena is free and open to the public all weekend.

ALL SKILLS CAMP:  August 5th - 8th

The first day of camp, Monday, August 5th, parents can park in the parking structure (connected to Bender Arena) to drop off their campers and check them into camp.  Parking is free until 10am.   If you plan to stay later than 9:30am, please park in the Nebraska lot across campus.   The parking structure is not available to campers in the afternoon, so if you'd like to come early and watch, please park across campus in the Nebraska lot.

Campers can be dropped off at the front of Bender Arena starting at 8:30am on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of camp. Pick up is from 4:30pm - 4:50pm in front of Bender Arena. 

 


SERVING CAMP: August 9th


On the day of camp, Friday, August 9th, parents can park in the parking structure (connected to Bender Arena) to drop off their campers and check them into camp.  Parking is free until 10am.   If you plan to stay later than 9:30am, please park in the Nebraska lot across campus.   The parking structure is not available to campers in theafternoon, so if you'd like to come early and watch, please park across campus in the Nebraska lot.  Pick up is from 4:30pm - 4:50pm in front of Bender Arena. 

 

6. Where do I PICK UP my child once camp has ended?

Camp Sessions end at 4:30PM.  Pick up is from 4:30pm - 4:45pm in front of Bender Arena.  Cars are not permitted to park or wait on the roadway leading up to Bender Arena for pick up.  If your child is not ready when you arrive, please drive completely through the roadway, circling the university and re-entering on Massachusetts Avenue.

 

7. What eateries are open for LUNCH/Dinner?

Commuters have the option of bringing a sack lunch to camp or visiting one of the campus eateries at lunchtime.   Campers will be escorted to these sites by camp counselors and then lunch will be taken back to the gym.  The following eateries are located next to Bender Arena:  Subway, Eagles Nest, Mega Bytes Cafe.

·     **We suggest you bring a sack lunch if you are attending camp on the weekend as the campus eateries on not open on Saturdays & Sundays.  

 

8. What MEALS are provided for OVERNIGHT campers?

Overnight campers are provided the following meals:

 

Setters Camp, Hitters Camp & Liberos Camp (August 3-4)

Day 1:           lunch, dinner

Day 2:           breakfast, lunch

All Skills Camp (August 5-8)

Day 1:            lunch, dinner

Day 2 & 3:     breakfast, lunch, dinner

Day 4:            breakfast, lunch

Server Camp (Aug. 6) 

No meals offered 

 

9. Is there a deposit required for overnight camper

Overnight campers are required to provide a $115 Key Deposit when they check in for camp.  This depsosit will be returned after camp has been completed so long as there is no damage to the room.  Check payable to American Volleyball Camps. 

10. When is the CAMP STORE open?

The camp store will be open from 12:30-1:30pm and at the end of camp each day.

 

11. Is a TRAINER available on site?

Yes, a certified trainer will be on site for all camps and will also be available for overnight campers.
