8u All-Stars Win, Win Win!

For the first time in a long time, our league fielded an 8U All-Star team in 2010.  Our girls played in a series of "play-around" tournaments against other 8u teams in the NorCal league.  In three tournaments, our team posted an overall record of 9-1, with a pair of first place finishes - including at the first annual American River "Crazy Eights" 8u tournament held at our main fields.  Congratualtions, American River 8u All-Stars!

12U Are Champions!!

Our Girls Take the Championship in the NorCal "B" All-Star Tournament

Our 12U team turned in an awesome performance this weekend, with preliminary victories over Lincoln, Rocklin, and Foothill before winning its final game Monday night against Rocklin to secure the NorCall all-star tournament crown.  Congratulations! 

Our 14U and 10U teams also turned in strong performances in Elk Grove.  The 14U girls placed third overall, with wins over Lincoln, Sacramento, and Woodland before losing to Foothill in the semi-finals.  Our 10U team recorded wins over Lincoln and Rocklin before dropping its first Sunday game against Elk Grove.  Both teams showed a lot of heart, and have a lot to be proud of!

They Bring Home the Championship in the Foothill/GSSA "B" Association 14U Tournament

Our 14U team put everything together in Folsom this weekend, winning the Foothill/GSSA 14U "B" Association championship with Foothill Force (twice), Cordova Fury (twice), Davis, before defeating Rocklin Thunder Blue 6-5 in the championship game.  This win earns our 14U team a spot in the Nationals tournament held next month in Roseville, CA.

Our 12U and 10U teams also turned in strong performances this weekend.  The 12U girls went 2-1 on Saturday, with wins over Foothill and Davis, before losing its Sunday opener to Elk Grove by a score of 5-4 in the first international tie-breaker period.  It was much the same in the 10U bracket, where our team opened up with a 1-1-1 record on Saturday (with a victory over Foothill and a tie against Cordova Fury), before dropping its first Sunday game against Roseville Red 5-4, also in the first round of an international tie-breaker.  You'll get them next time, girls!

14U Leaves It All On the Field!

They Take Second in the Piece of the Rock 14U Tournament

Our 14U team turned in a gutsy performance in Rocklin this weekend, earning a #1 seed with hard-fought wins over Rocklin Vendetta, Foothill (twice), and Davis all-stars (with a tie against Roseville Blue Thunder thrown in for good measure) before falling to the Saratoga Magic in the championship game.

Our 12U and 10U teams also played strong ball this weekend.  The 12U girls defeated the Cordova, Foothill and Davis all-star teams to take a #1 seed in their bracket, and earned a victory over Nevada County Sunday morning before losing a strongly-contested rematch against Foothill.  A similar story took place in the 10U bracket, where our team brought home a pair of wins against Five Cities and Sunrise and a tie against Nevada County to take the #1 seed, with a Sunday morning win over Carmichael before a loss in the rematch against Nevada County sent them home Sunday afternoon.  Congratulations to everyone!

Our 12U girls played one heck of a tournament, beating teams from Sacramento (9-5), Davis (9-1), Rocklin (7-2), and Elk Grove (5-4) before falling to Roseville Red 3-2 in a terrific Championship game.  Way to go, girls!

They Bring Home The Capital Sports Association Tournament Championship Trophy

All three American River all-star teams turned in great showings at their first tournament of the season.  Our 14U girls took it all the way, winning the Class "B" and under 14U Division at the two-day tournament held in Dixon and Davis.  Congratulations to all our 14U players!
