TOC and Volunteering

For Minor and Major level players, the teams compete at the end of the season to for their local division championships. This contest is called the Tournament of Champions or TOC. Our local TOC is under way now. The winner in each division goes on to compete in our District 33 TOC against the other 14 leagues in our District. After local and District TOC, our AGLL All Stars will be announced on June 15. AGLL will have 3 All Star teams made up of players age 9-10, 10-11 and 11-12. The two younger teams will compete for a District Championship while the 11-12 has the opportunity to compete all the way to the title of Little League World Champions.

While all this activity means a lot more baseball for a number of children at AGLL, it means there’s a great deal of extra support and volunteer work to be done at AGLL starting now! AGLL will be hosting these post-season games for both District TOC and All Stars.

Hosting post season TOC and All Stars is an honor for AGLL. We get to welcome guests from our other District 33 Leagues, enjoy competition from their best teams and their company at our fields. The games are exciting and fun to watch! Hosting is also very important financially to AGLL, especially this year. Hosting presents an opportunity for us to bring in additional revenues that we need to pay our bills and support our programs. We need your volunteer support for the post season

For these tournament games, there are a variety of volunteer duties that have to be performed. They include pre-game field prep, facilities cleanup and preparation, snack bar volunteers, grill chef, post game cleanup and field duties, scorekeeping, pitch counting and announcing. There are volunteers who are always involved at AGLL and we know that we can count on many of them. But we need more help than we have! If you have been thinking about becoming more involved with AGLL, this is a perfect time, we need your help.

If you are new to the League in T-Ball or Rookies, it’s likely that you will be here for many years to come. You are the future Facilities Chiefs, Snack Bar Directors, Secretaries and Presidents. So please, take a look at our post season schedule, link to the Website from the “Volunteers” selection below and tell us how you can help. If you are skilled at scoring, announcing or any of the other skills we need to host tournaments, include that information please. If you don’t know how you can help but want to, just send us a message from the volunteer’s link and someone will get back to you.
