Allied Gardens Little League: News
Majors Field Day a Success!
While we could've used more volunteers, our Field Day on the Majors Field Today was a great success. Our field lines had become overrun by creeping grass. We re-edged and cut out the overgrown areas and resurfaced the dirt areas, leaving the field in great shape. Thanks to all of the volunteers who turned out to help out!
If you'd like to get involved in the next Field Day, please sign up for our field maintenance e-mail list.
2009 Fall Ball season is here
It's time again to play Fall Ball at AGLL. This is an informal, instructional league especially suited to those players moving up to a new level. We have sign ups for Rookie, Minor and Major level players, with many opportunities to play against teams from other District 33 teams.
Registration forms need to be turned in by August 22nd.

District 33 Tournament of Champions
Congratulations to the AGLL teams for a great showing in the District tournament. The Major Padres made it all the way to the Finals, while the Minor Red Sox had a strong showing before just missing out on making it to the semi-final game. Great job teams!
AGLL Tournament of Champions
Congratulations to the Major Padres and Minor Red Sox for winning the AGLL TOC!
Good luck in the District 33 TOC.
"Little Padre Fields" Dedication
Thank you to all who helped with and attended the ground breaking ceremony for our "Little Padre Fields." This is a noteworthy time in AGLL's history, and it's great that so many people were able to witness it.
Many thanks to the Padres Organization for choosing AGLL for this honor, and, along with Brickman Construction, making sure we now have a top-notch baseball facility. Also, special thanks to Diane Jacobs for all of her help in making this happen. Finally, thanks to Kevin Kousmanoff, Bud Black and Sandy Alderson for coming out to the ceremony and representing the Padres.
These beautiful fields are now the responsibility of all of us. Let's make sure we all do what we can to help keep them just as nice as they were on that special day.
You can view the press release from the Padres, see pictures from the event on the Padres website, and view our photos.

AGLL Featured on KUSI
KUSI's Turko File has done a follow up story on the AGLL Fields highlighting the tremendous efforts of our own Dave Suda and George Palladino. Turko first got involved with AGLL back in 2001, and followed up with the story in 2004 that helped force a developer to put in the current drainage system.
Watch a video of his testament to a community coming together to get great things done with the leadership of a few key people.
Patriot League
Do you know where to go and play baseball after you have been through Tee-Ball, Rookies, Minors and Majors in AGLL? The answer is the Patriot League. The Patriot League is the next step up from Allied Gardens, San Carlos. Mission Trails, Lake Murray, Rolando and La Mesa National Little Leagues. For information see http://www.patriotleagueonline.org.
Umpires ... We Want You!
We are always looking for volunteers to umpire games. Umpiring is an exciting way to be directly involved with your son or daughter and to be a positive role model for the players and your community. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to umpire some games, please contact the AGLL Chief Umpire. See the AGLL Board page for contact information.
See the District 33 Umpire Page for umpire training and information.
