: History
History of ALL MET FootballALL MET was founded by James H Williams, Jr (JW) in January 2000. The name ALL MET had several meanings to the founder. Most of the guys that would play for ALL MET were from the Washington DC metropolitan area. Also, there is an award given to the areas top high school athletes by the Washington Post newspaper. It is called the "ALL MET" award for outstanding achievement in athletics. With those two ideals in mind, he gave the team its name.
He enlisted the help of Damion Upshur and Steven Feazell (his life long friends) to get the team going. They recruited friends and past teammates from teams they used to play for. JW recruited Theodore Holmes (Smoke) to be the Head Coach of the team in March 2000.
The first practice was held in March of 2000 with only seven players attending. From those original seven guys that practiced that Sunday, the team swelled to over 30 players in less than a year. The first year was marked with many successes and set backs alike. All a part of growth.
ALL MET is an organization that promotes a family atmosphere. Our members are loyal, dedicated and unselfish to one another. We look to the future with the anticipation of a long tenure as one of the top flag football organizations in the nation.
