Welcome to the Albany Pop Warner website. Home of the Trojans, Titans, Spartans, and Mallers.


-MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Albany Pop Warner Football, Inc. is to enable the children of the City of Albany to benefit from participation in team sports and activities in a safe and structured environment. Through this active participation, our programs promote and teach fundamental values, skills and knowledge that children will use throughout their lives.

-OBJECTIVES
To encourage and increase inner city youth participation in football and cheerleading.
To ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all participants.
To instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic both in the classroom and competition.

-POSITIVE EXPERIENCES
Albany Pop Warner has no tryouts and doesn't make roster cuts.
All children participate under national mandatory play rules.
Individual awards are given only for academic excellence, not for on-field achievements.

-SAFE PLAYING ENVIRONMENT
All football players are matched by national age and weight limits.
All cheerleaders are matched by national age limits.
All coaches and commissioners are required to attend a yearly clinic.
All volunteers are background checked per national requirements.

Capital District Pop Warner Clinics (UPDATED SCHEDULE)

The Capital District Pop Warner Clinic dates for the 2008 season have now been confirmed; the first clinic will take place on Sunday, 06/08/2008 at the University at Albany Lecture Centers at 6:00PM. This year all staff members (head coaches, assistant coaches, commissioners, trainers, equipment managers, team parents, coordinators, or any other adult that will be on a roster) must attend [1] of the Capital District Clinic's. Please make sure that you arrive at the clinics on time as they will start them promptly and they will not allow anyone to enter after they have started. Head coaches and coordinators please confirm that all of your staff is aware of these dates. If you needs directions to the clinics send an email request to albanypopwarner@hotmail.com.

The dates are posted on the CDPW Webpage (www.cdpw.org) and are listed here for your convenience. Please check the CDPW Webpage prior to attendance to make sure that there has not been a schedule change.

NOTE: Please let us know by email at albanypopwarner@hotmail.com which clinic date you will be attending, as we will receive a list of names that were certified after each clinic date but if you don't let us know you were attending we will have no idea if there is a mistake or you were not certified.

Football Summer Camps

Many people have inquired about various camps for this summer. We have started to put links to there websites in our "Links" tab (left side of our webpage). We will also distribute any information we have at our registration dates. Please remember that none of these camps are affiliated with Pop Warner nor Albany Pop Warner. We have been provided special discounts for some camps, so if you think you are interested on attending a camp send us an email to albanypopwarner@hotmail.com to see if the camp you are interested in has given us a discount.

*Please note that if you will need Albany Pop Warner to provide you with equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, ect) for any camp you must make your request by email to albanypopwarner@hotmail.com or in person at one of our registration dates (NO COACHES WILL HAND OUT EQUIPMENT TO ANYONE THIS YEAR FOR ANY CAMP NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE) and you will have to meet the following requirements:

1) Paid your registration fee in full for our program (Albany Pop Warner).
2) Provided us with [2] weeks notice before you will need the equipment.
