NEWS FLASH!

AJAX GIRLS U14 JAGS - LOOKING TO ADD ONE MORE PLAYER
Ajax SC Girls U14 is looking to add one more player to complete its roster.  The team, which is trained by Lee Glover (founder and owner of Elite Soccer Academy), is joining JAGS and has already added quality players to a fast-improving squad.

While other teams have folded or faded away, we have been together for six years and will remain so through high school, providing unique opportunities and assistance to those players wishing to pursue a college soccer career.

We offer a comprehensive winter indoor training program through Elite Soccer Academy and are in the midst of planning a one-of-a-kind soccer trip to the Caribbean in 2009...which promises to be an incredible soccer experience.

If you are looking for a team with excellent training and long-term stability...that truly emphasizes individul development and fosters teamwork...please contact us to find out more:  ajaxscnj@yahoo.com

NEW AJAX GIRLS U12 TEAM LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Ajax is pleased to announce the creation of a new Girls U12 team, starting play in the Northern Counties Soccer Association this Fall.  The team, which is open to all players, is looking to add a few more girls to its roster and will be coached by Luis Motta, a US Soccer nationally licensed coach.  For more information, please contact Coach Motta by e-mail (lmotta30@verizon.net) or phone (973-427-0512).

BIESZARD, RAU AND PATEL WIN AJAX SCHOLARSHIPS!
Congratulations to Matthew Bieszard, Jennifer Rau and Dipal Patel, all of Midland Park, for each being awarded $750 Ajax Soccer Club Scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Annually, any player who is enrolled in a post-high school accredited institution of higher learning, has played a minimum of five years for any Ajax team and has played on their high school varsity or junior varsity is eligible for an Ajax scholarship.  The player must complete an application, write an essay and obtain a recommendation from their high school coach.  All applications are judged by at least three evaluators, who recommend eventual recipients and the amount of the scholarship.

This year, all three of the scholarship winners did much to earn the award.

Bieszard, who is also a New Jersey State champion in track, was a four-year starter for Midland Park High School.  In his senior season, he was a captain of the NJSIAA North One Group One State Sectional Champions, garnering BPSL First Team All League and First Team All Suburban honors.  He was also chosen for the Bergen County Senior All-Star game.  Bieszard was a member of Ajax for eight years and played at the Gothia Cup and Dana Cup with the United Soccer Academy in 2005.  Matthew will continue his education at Yale University in Connecticut.

Rau has been with Ajax for a remarkable nine years and is a standout athlete and leader at Midland Park High School, where she was a four-year varsity starter on the soccer team.  For her final two years, she was team captain.  Jen captured BPSL First Team All League honors as a junior and senior, scoring 55 career goals (including 23 as a junior).  She will continue her soccer career at Scranton University in Pennsylvania.

Patel, who has a sister on a younger Ajax team, has been with the club for seven years.  She received three varsity letters and earned a starting role at Midland Park High School in her senior season.  Due to her team-first attitude and leadership abilities, Dipal became a team captain for her senior season .  She was involved with many clubs at the high school and is very community oriented.  Dipal will continue her education at Rutgers University.

Congratulations and all the best to Matthew, Jen and Dipal!
