  • The Middle School Program has two teams:
    • Lightning Blue with players from 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
    • Lightning Gold with players from 6th, 7th and 8th grade.
    • Players on placed on the appropriate team based on skill and try outs.

    • Dragons team is for players in kindergarten through 5th grade.  The Dragons team provides the foundation for lacrosse and teaches our youngest players.

Information & Boundaries

  • The Ahwatukee Lacrosse program is governed by the Arizona Youth Lacrosse League (AYLL) and must adhere to the boundaries stated by the AYLL.
  • AYLL rules specify that our JHS players must live within the following school based boundaries: All public, private, religious and charter schools that are physically located within the school boundares of Kyrene #28 that feed the following middle schools: Akimel, Altadena and Centennial.

Registration Information

  • Step One: All players are required to have  recent US Lacrosse membership.  A youth player membership cost is $25.  Access to the US Lacrosse site is at www.uslacrosse.org.
  • Step Two: Register for Ahwatukee Boys Lacrosse at the link above.  Select the correct season (fall ball or spring) as well as correct Ahwatukee Lacrosse Program.
  • Step Three: Register for AYLL (registration is free).  Please register at www.azlax.com.

Equipment Required

  • The Ahwatukee Boys Lacrosse Program deeply cares about the safety of our players.  The following equipment is mandatory for every player: Lacrosse stick, lacrosse helmet, water, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, mouth guard, cup, cleats, and reversible practice jersey.
  • We recommend Cascade CPV helmets for our youth players. For our 8th graders, we recommend a more advanced helmet such as a Cascade CPX or Cascade Pro7 that players can also use at the high school level.
  • This year the team helmet color is navy blue shell with a white visor and white chin piece. There is no difference in price versus a plain white helmet, but this color scheme need to be ordered in advance.
  • Any player missing any of the mandatory equipment listed above will not be allowed to practice or play in games.
