Welcome to the Adams Little League!
We are happy to report that the League continues to maintain a low registration fee ($30 for 1st child; $20 for each additional child) but in order to keep costs down, parents and players are required to participate in a number of fund-raising efforts and work crew activities which include:
*Cash Calendar (players are expected to sell at least 10)
*Bottle Drive (players and parents are expected to work from start to finish)
*Car Wash (players are expected to sell tickets and work one shift)
*Concession Stand (parents need to work several hours during the season and provide items such as chili, baked goods, etc.)
*Field Preparation and Maintenance (parents are needed to prepare the field for Sunday games only; the town of Adams prepares the field during the week)
Due to Massachusetts law and Little League rules, all volunteers must fill out a 2009 Volunteer Form to allow for a CORI check to be performed. No registration will be accepted without it.
In order to make sure everyone is doing their part, attendance will be taken and recorded at all fund raising events. Unexcused absences may result in fines/fees being assigned and/or a game suspension. Participation on tournament teams requires fund-raising efforts as well. Excused absences may only be obtained from the President of the League and must occur prior to the event.
Both Minor and Major Leagues teams are required to have a Team Parent that will serve as coordinator for all fund-raising events including concession coverage. The team coach will be soliciting a volunteer to serve in this capacity and will provide the name to the Little League Board prior to the first game. If each parent volunteers just a little of their time, no individual parent will have to work excessive hours. Let's be fair to all and do our part to help the kids and the League.

*Registration (1st date) February 14, 2009 (AMMS from 9am-noon)
*Registration (2nd date) February 21, 2009 (AMMS from 9am-noon)
*Registration (last chance) March 21, 2009 (AMMS from 9am-noon)
*April 4 and 5: Tryouts for Major League at Beaver Bard Park - Valley Street Field (in case of inclement weather, tryouts will be held at the MCLA gym)
*May 2: Pitch, Hit, and Run
*May 3: Opening Day
*May 9: Car Wash (Majors only)
*May 16: Bottle Drive (Majors and Minors)
*May 20: Redsox vs. Toronto game in Boston (Major League-12 year olds only)
*May 31: Cash calendars due
*June 6: Under the Stars (9 and 10 year olds)
*June 13: Under the Stars (11 and 12 year olds)
