COLLEGE INFORMATION

For those of you who will be Juniors or higher next year,  you should be sending out contact letters to perspective colleges.  You should send out at least 20 letters to colleges you might want to attend.  Younger players should also send out simple contact letters to get yourself on the radar screen at the upcoming showcase tournament and Nationals. Give any of the coaches a call if you need assistance.  Everything you need to develop the letters and to get addresses is in the handout section.

The handout section includes a comprehensive list to help you with the College Recruiting Process.  The recruiting process from the National Fastpitch Coaches (NFCA), NCAA rules, sample letters, college addresses and softball websites for all colleges are included.  You must logon as an AZ Storm member to access the files. Click on the handouts to see the information. If you don't have an eteamz account click on handouts tab and follow the instruction or give Jeff DeWitt a call to get into the information.

LITTLE THINGS
(from the Storm Playbook)

#10  Before each batter, know where the throw will go if the ball is hit to you.

#64 Use the take sign to set something up.

#97 Slide on steals, squeezes and sacrifices, and anytime the ball is in the air toward the base you are heading.

#150 Do whatever it takes to get the runner in from third base.

#151 It is not simply the will to win that makes a champion. It is the will to prepare to win.  Work on the things you are bad at.

#158 When on base, always watch the ball.  You will miss an opportunity if you don't.

#174 Try to get the opposing bench to yell "going" every time you take a lead off.
