Strength and Conditioning Program for 2013
Attached is the 4-6 weeks conditioning schedule for your
team. We have secured the small rink from Castle Sport (next door) from
4:45-6:45pm Mon-Th for conditioning and training. In addition, we have the 2
sand courts, our patio and the weight room available throughout the year. There
are additional membership costs involved with the use of the sand courts and
weight room. This year, given the vast expertise that we have in house, some of our coaches will train their own teams.
Focus for 11-14
are cardio and proper forms
Focus for 15-16
are cardio, strength, weight and jumping
Focus for 17-18
are to get them ready for regular season and beyond
17/18’s: Taken into account that a number of players
already have their own trainer, we have decided to leave it up to each athlete to
arrange their training schedule. We removed the conditioning fees from the overall season fees so that families were not obligated to pay for conditioning if they already were working with an outside trainer. We endorse Marc Henry (next door) for this age group due to results seen over the last two years. Scheduling will be up to each player and they will work directly with Marc to fit it around their
practices. We will continue to have our 17/18s work with Marc in our off season program
(June-Aug) and group athletes by ability.
15/16’s: We are looking to use Michelle Hover (specialty
is Vertimax) and Ethan Banning to work with this age group beginning Nov 26th-Dec
20th. There will be an option to continue on an individual or team basis as needed through the rest of the
season. We will also use Ethan and Michelle in the off season program with the 15/16 (June-Aug) and
group them by ability.
11-14’s: Focus: basic movements, use of proper muscles, speed/agility
and overall physical conditioning. We will use our own coaches with
experience in these areas to work with their own team or with other teams when schedule permits. (see
listing of day/hours). Efficient Movement
(M/Th) will cover all other training in these age groups.
Please see the conditioning schedule attached. The 15/16s teams are also listed.
