Arcadia Little League 2014 AZ6 9-10 Baseball Champs

For Arcadia Little League (ARLL)  it does not get much better than this!  ARLL was the tournament host for both Arizona District 6 9/10s Baseball and 10/11s Baseball.  With first year President, David Davis, at the helm both tournaments ran flawlessly and  both ARLL's teams entered the Championship game(s).

ARLL beat a determined Fountain Hills team 13-1.  Although the final outcome was by more than 10 runs, a full 6 innings were played as that margin was not achieved until the top of the 6th and the game was much closer than the final score would suggest.  It was ARLL's first championship in the 10-year history of Arizona District 6 9/10 baseball tournaments.

ARLL will now move on to the State Tournament which is being hosted by District 3.  Details for that tournament are found at www.azd3.com. (click on the "2014 9-10 State BB" link on the left hand side).

Congratulations Arcadia and best of luck at the State Tournament.

9/10 AZ 6 District Baseball: Fountain Hills to Play for Championship

In the final game of the elimination bracket, Fountain Hills Little League (FHLL) defeated North Scottsdale Little League (NSLL) 20-16.  The two teams were tied at 8 after 4 complete innings when FHLL exploded for 12 runs in the top of the 5th.  NSLL scored 5 in the bottom of the 5th and 3 more times in the bottom of the 6th but it was, as they say, "too little too late." FHLL advances to the championship game(s) for the second year in a row.  A well rested Arcadia Little League team, who swept through the winners' bracket games scoring 41 runs in 3 games, awaits.

The championship game(s) will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday evening, June 28th.

9/10 AZ 6 District Baseball: Mountain View Advances while Night Cap Suspended

Play tonight was two games in the elimination bracket.  In the early game, Mountain View kept its hope alive by beating Desert Foothills 11-2.  However, the second game of North Scottsdale and McDowell Mountain was suspended in the bottom of the 5th inning with NSLL leading 14-1 due to the lights going out. The home team, MMLL, is entitled to its last at-bats and was trying to extend the game with only 1 out in their half of the inning.

The suspended game will resume at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25th.  The winner will then come back at 7:30 PM to play Mountain View.
