The District 6 team from Scottsdale defeated the District 14 team from Gilbert 14-4 in the early game of the night. With the win, D6 advanced to the championship game(s) starting on Monday, July 9th at 5:00 PM. 

The loss by D14 required them to play District 11's team from San Carlos Little League (SCLL) in the night cap.  Although the scrappy team from SCLL did not go home without a fight, D14 prevailed 11-4.  As a result, D6 and D14 will play for the championship.

District 6 defeated District 11's team from San Carlos Little League (SCLL) 23-0.  But the score did not tell whole the tale.  San Carlos only had 9 players with all of them being of Native descent.  The area of San Carlos has been known for its basketball, but a change is underway.  With more than 500 players in SCLL, baseball is starting to get its own footing. For SCLL to field a team to participate in the Big League program is a great accomplishment and one is struck by the raw talent and determination of its players.  In addition, it is my understanding that their league also won several other D11 championships and will be playing at State.
