Welcome our new coach administrator, Kristie Hemgesberg.  At their October meeting, the New Lothrop Regional Board appointed Kristie to complete the '05-'06 Season as Region 1155's Coach Administrator.  Kirsten will help to recruit coaches and coordinate their initial and ongoing training.  She will also help coordinate communications with our ever-growing coaching staff.  Thanks Kristie!

Grand Blanc Soccer Zone offers soccer skills classes from time to time.  The classes are not sponsored, endorsed, or funded by AYSO, but we'll post them here as we're aware of them; just FYI for anyone that may be interested.

     January 17:  6:45-8:35 p.m.  Shooting and Finishing Clinic - $20 per player.

     January 25:  6:45-8:35 p.m.  Goalkeeping Clinic - $20 per player.

Ever wonder about those 17 Laws of the Game?  Coaching is much more fun when you really understand the game.  Coaches are encouraged to take the Basic referee class.   Check out the "Referee" Section of this website or contact our Regional Referee Administrator, Eric Kamlay, at ekamlay@yahoo.com for more information on upcoming classes in our area.

Check out the new "Tournament" tab for local tournament info.  Some tournaments are sanctioned AYSO events and some are sponsored by local non-AYSO soccer clubs.  Region 1155 isn't sanctioning any particular event - just posting them here for your information. 

If you choose to participate in an AYSO tournament, be sure you get full parent participation so that you have adequate travel and chaparone resources.  Check the rules for each tournament.  Usually, teams must be a registered AYSO team, though usually there is some leeway to allow you to substitute AYSO players from other teams in case you don't have enough players that can make the tournament.  Our AYSO Soccer Accident Insurance covers all registered players and volunteers at these events.  As always, please be sure to file an accident form with our Safety Direction, James Michon, or our Regional Commissioner, Sharlene Timmons, in the event that any player or volunteer is injured.

Other, non-AYSO tournaments, are also posted.  These are often short-sided 4x4 events and can be a lot of fun.  Please read the tournament rules regarding number and age of players, etc.

Most tournaments in Michigan are in the Spring and Summer so plan ahead for next year.  There are still a couple of options available for this year.  We will try to locate and post information earlier next year!
