92 Arizona CATS Website
The
92 Arizona CATS have played their last game. The team was put together in the fall of 2004 and concluded play on July 26, 2008 at the USSSA 16U B West World Series. While some of the early records have been lost, the team record from January 1, 2006 to July 26, 2008 was 154-92-9 for a .604 winning percentage.
Two of the original players were still with the team at the end, Abri Romero and Sammie Merrimen (Katherine Peters came close, joining the team a week after it was formed). A number of dedicated players have graced the roster over the four years, many now having productive high school careers in addition to club play.
Many thanks to all the people, parents, coaches, managers, sponsors, who made this such a successful team over the years. Thanks to Kim, Phil and Gino for getting the team off the ground in 2004. Many thanks to Phil, Gino, Greg, Orasio, Bill, Noemi, Emily, Ray, Linda, Al, Doug, Sam, and all the others who at one time or another carried the title of "coach" who gave of their time and expertise to help the girls become better players.
It was a good ride, good luck to all as you continue playing with new teams. Remember, play hard, play fair and have fun . Go CATS!
