WELCOME TO AKROBOTICS CENTRAL!
The Alaska Robotics Education Association, AREA, welcomes you to its home on eteamz.
We are transitioning our domain, akrobotics.org, and we ask that you bear with us as we try to move our web site to and domain to eteamz. We hope that the move will enable us to provide greater service and flexibility with respect to the events AREA sponsors or manages. We are also hoping to be able to provide long term web homes for robotics teams on this site as well. If you have comments and or suggestions feel free to let us hear from you!
Immediately below you will find a listing of the major activities in which AREA is involved. FLL refers to First Lego League and it is primarily targeted at elementary through middle school students. FRC, or First Robotics Competition, is targeted at high school students and was a primarily focus of AREA in years past. This year AREA will being hosting Alaska first open robotics competition. Please click on the appropriate activity to be taken to its web site.
Below that you will find news about current competitions, trainings, camps, lectures and programs, whether or not sponsored or affiliated with AREA. DO you have an event you want listed? Let us know.
In closing we also wanted to note that AREA is always looking for financial support for robotics programming in Alaska. To that end we will be making the advertising banners on this web site available to qualified donors. If you are interested, please contact one of our board members at your convenience.

AREA's Mission and Profile
AREA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that serves as an organizing body for educational robotics activities in the state of Alaska. To this end it raises funds for robotics competitions such as FIRST and FIRST LEGO League (FLL), mentors students participating in these competitions, and hosts tournaments.
Formed by volunteers and parents who were active in the FIRST robotics competitions, AREA began its service in the state of Alaska in 2001 and received its IRS 501(c)(3) status in March 2002. This non profit organization works to develop an interest in science and engineering within young people. AREA introduces the exciting world of technology through robotics competitions.
