Arlington Little League: Coaches

Pitch Count

Coaches,

This week's safety message addresses the topic of
pitch counts. Pitch counts are a very important
safety measure to protect young arms. Little League's
does not presently have an official position on pitch
counts. However, the USA Baseball Medical & Safety
Advisory Committee has issued a position statement on
the matter, which I have attached to this email.
Little League is a member of USA Baseball, and the
Chairman of the USA Baseball Medical & Safety Advisory Committee, Dr. Barry Goldberg, is also a member of the Little League Board of Directors. Therefore I think there is a strong link between the position of the USA Baseball Medical and Safety Advisory Commitee and us.

So while we are not changing any rule or creating any
new ones, I would ask that you read the attached
document and consider it in your coaching as a guide
to help maintain a safe environment for our players.

Thanks,
Phil
