Founded in 1957, the motto of the Better Sports Club is "Better Sports Today, Better Citizens Tomorrow." The purpose of the Club is: "To provide leadership, encourage and help provide recreational facilities for the development of our young men and women, to attain good health, upright character and the principal of useful citizenship through the medium of sports and good sportsmanship." Each year, the Club raises monies to provide supporting grants to a wide range of youth sports groups. Financial support has been provided for organizations involved in youth baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, soccer, track, softball and other sports. Climaxing the Club's activities each year is the Spring Annual Sports Awards Banquet. At the banquet, the Club pays tribute to Arlington's outstanding athletes who have shown good sportsmanship, competitiveness and leadership.
The BSC is the proud sponsor of three teams: 1) Da Blast , a member of the 2005 Underwood League-Cat Osterman Division; and 2)the Dolphins, a member of the 2005 Ponytail League-Cat Osterman Division; and 3)the Tornados, a member of the 2005 Pigtail League-Cat Osterman Division.
