Announcing the start of Fall Ball 2008!

For girls 10 and up (as of next fall), you should have heard from a coach by now about game and practice schedules. If you still haven't heard from your coach, call the AGSA Hotline at 703-237-6365.

Clinics:

For girls 9 and under, the season starts with a series of pitching and skills clinics. (Remember, that's 9 and under as of Sept. 30, 2009, not this year, because girls always play up in the low-key fall season to the league that they'll play in this spring.)

The focus of the Fall season is all about developing the skills to play the game. Both Pitching and General Skills clinics will be conducted on Saturdays from Sept. 20 through Oct 4.

These clinics will be taught by former college players who have played the game at the highest level. This is an outstanding opportunity for our girls to receive the very best softball instruction available and have fun doing it. Set your Saturday mornings aside and come out for these free clinics for all Pixie (7U) and Pigtail (9U) girls who have registered in AGSA for the Fall season.

All Coaches are welcome and in fact encouraged to attend. Learn the drills and skills that will be invaluable to you and your girls over the course of this season and beyond.

Instructors:
Pitching Skills: pitching motion, ball grip, stride, release, drills, etc
Angie Tyson (Muhlenberg College) and Jenn Shellhammer (U of MD)

General Skills: hitting, base running, fielding, throwing
Jillian Calloway (U of MD) and Staff from “5 Star Athletics”

Schedule:

September 20th, 27th and Oct 4th – Arlington Traditional School Fields

• 9:00-10:30- Pixie (7U) General Skills Clinic
• 10:30-11:30- Pixie (7U) Pitching Clinic

• 10:30-12:00- Pigtail(9U) General Skills Clinic
• 11:30-12:30- Pigtail (9U) Pitching Clinic

After Oct. 4, 7U and 9U players will be assigned to teams and they'll play games at the same time and place until the season ends Nov. 1.

Remember: deadline for registration was Sept. 13. You can still register by paying a $25 late fee, and you can't participate in these clinics until you are registered. No registrations will be accepted after Sept. 20.
