WELCOME TO THE ADELANTO LITTLE LEAGUE WEBSITE!

   Welcome to the Adelanto Little League Home page. Please check the calendar section   for the dates of upcoming events. As the season progresses there will be information on teams, game schedules, and other information of interest to our players, managers,coaches,and parents.

ADELANTO LITTLE LEAGUE BY-LAWS


1. All registered players 7 and older must attend tryouts to be eligible to be drafted. with the exception of Returning players, to teams Majors and above. All remaining players will be put into a hat and chosen blind.
2. All players must provide an original birth certificate, no abstracts, and 3 proofs of residency at registration.
3. If a Board Member misses 2 consecutive Board Meetings, and does not notify an Executive Board Member before the second meeting why they are unable to attend, any member may bring that persons name before the board to be voted off.
4. Winter Ball league ages are the same as for the previous season. Winter Ball is only for player’s league age 9-12.  A player that is a second year major may pitch only one inning per game.  Only one second year major player may pitch per game.  (At no time may a player that is moving up to Juniors pitch.)
5. Players may request a specific manager for winter ball, but no guarantee is given. Teams will be formed by age, ie: 3 league age 9 year olds, 3 league age 10 year olds, 3 league age 11 year olds, 3 league age 12 year olds. Not every team will be able to  have exactly this amount of players of a specific age group, but every effort will be made to make sure the teams are divided evenly.
6. Players may request a manager if they are league age 5 or 6,  but no guarantee is given that they will be on that manager’s team.
7. Once all teams are drafted to a maximum of 12 players a waiting list will be formed for any late registrations. There is no guarantee that a player on the waiting list will be placed on a team. If by the third week of regular play, a player has not been placed on a team, they will be notified of their status and asked if they would still like to be on the waiting list or if they would like their name removed and their registration fee returned.
8.  We will not accept personal checks  as a form of payment for registration. They may be paid with cash, money order, ATM or credit card. A
.25
cent charge will be applied for any transaction made by ATM or credit card.
9. When drafting a team, only a new manager may draft a coaches pick and a lock-out pick.. Returning managers may draft a lock-out pick only.                                                                                                                        A) Any player may re-enter the draft, but,
 cannot be a lock-out, and if a brother/sister pick applies the player re-entering the draft must be drafted first.                                                                                                         B.)  No lock-out may happen without a written approval from the parents that must be turned in before tryouts. 10. Every team will be required to provide volunteers to help in the snack bar. If you cannot find volunteers to help, or your volunteers do not show up, there will be a $10 fee, per person, accessed to your team. All fees must be paid in full before closing ceremonies or your team’s trophies will be held.  It is the responnsibility of the manager to make sure volunteers are available.
11 All official scorekeepers and pitch counters MUST keep score in the scorekeeper's booth.   Once you enter the scorekeeper's booth you must remain neutral.                                                                                            
12.Every baseball team, minors and above, must have an official scorekeeper and pitch counter.  If you are home team, your scorekeeper keeps the official score and the visiting team's keeps the official pitch count.  Every baseball game must have both a scorekeeper and a pitch counter.  No baseball game will start without either of these people present.                                                                                                                           13. Every manager will be responsible for umpiring games during the season. They may ask one of their coaches or parents to fulfill this obligation. All managers, coaches or parents must attend an umpiring class before they can umpire. If someone from your team does not fulfill their assignment, your team will be assessed a fee that must be paid in full by closing ceremonies or their trophies will be held. The fee is based upon how much we would have to pay another umpire to fill in for them. Each division’s fees are different.
14. NO
FIRST
NAMES may be added to a player’s jersey or sweatshirt under the Majors division. We recommend not putting them on their hats either, but that is up to manager's discretion.
15. No one shall be receive reimbursement without a receipt for the purchase.
16. Two signatures are required
 when writing a check.
17. A manager, coach, or league official must fill out  a n incident/injury tracker form for the injured player.  If the form is not filled out , the  player will not be covered under little league insurance. All forms must be filled out ASAP and returned to the Safety Officer
18.  During scheduled practice,  no practice will be held with less than one1 manager/coach.  (Approved background check and medical release forms present).                                                                                  A.) During first come first serve practice, no practice may take place without  manager/coach, medical release, forms, and 50% of the team present to occupy the field.

1          19. Only players and coaches are allowed in the dugout during a game. No siblings are allowed and a maximum of 3 adults is permitted. Failureto comply may result in the team foefeiting the game. One adult 18 years or older must remain in the dugout at all times during the game.

      20. Forfeits can only be determined by the Executive Board.  A decision must be made within three business days. 

21. No player shall practice or play in a game without a protective cup.  All players majors and below shall wear a mouth piece on offense and defense.  Junior, Senior,Big League must wear a mouth piece on offense.

22. No team shall hold a fundraiser on their own.  A;; fundraisera will be run thru the league and all funds deposited into the league account. ( Except opening day.)

23. All Star teams will be drafted by the players of that division.  They will pick the first six and the Board approved manager for each division shall pick the remaining players.  At least one player will be picked from each team. 

24. All managers MUST  attend a coaches clinic before they can draft a team or hold a practice..

25.       25. Teams may only have three events a week.  Either two practices and one game, or two games and one practice.  All practices are to be held at Board approved practice facilities.  No team may travel together for a practice, i. e. the batting cages.

       26. All volunteers must fill out a volunteer application and provide a copy of their drivers license.  No volunteer may help until they have been approved.  Volunteering is defined by anyone who will be around little league players at any given time..

     27.  All Executive Board Members terms will be for one year, and only two consecutively in the same position.  (Exception: No one accepts nomination for that position) 

     28. Players Code of Conduct shall be read and signed by both the player and the parent.  The player shall receive their copy and the league shall retain a copy.  First offense is a written warning from the league,  Second offense will result in removal from the league without refund. 

  29.  Board members must reside in the City of Adelanto. (exception: for those who are already Board members and continue to serve without interruption of their service.)

   30.  All minor and major divisions shall be listed together on the league charter.

PLAYER/PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT Everyone must understand and comply with this code

The Adelanto Little League Board of Directors have mandated the following Code of Conduct.  All players/parents must read the Code of Conduct and sign inthe space provided below, acknowledging that he/she understands and agrees to comply with the Code of Conduct.  Player/Parent must return this form by the day of try-outs to be eligible to participate in Adelanto Little League. 

NO PLAYER/PARENT SHALL AT ANY TIME:

Lay a hand upon, push, shove, strike or threaten to strike anyone at anytime during any league function or event.

Be guilty of heaping personal verbal abuse upon anyone's wrong decision or judgement at any league function or event.

Be guilty of an objectionable demonstration of dissent by throwing of gloves, helmets, hats, bats, balls, or any other forceful unsportsmanlike action at any league function or event.

Be guilty of unnecessarily rough tactics in a play of the game/practice against the body of the opposing player or teammate.

Be guilty of a physical attack upon a Board Member, official, manager, coach, player, or spectator.

Be guilty of the use of profane, obscene, or vulgar language in any manner at anytime. 

Appear on the field of play, stands, or anywhere on a league complex while in a intoxicated state.  Intoxication will be defined as an odor or behavior issue.

Be guilty of gambling upon any play or outcome of any game with anyone at anytime.

Smoke while in the stands or on the playing field or any dugout.  Smoking will only be permitted in designated areas which will be 40 feet from any spectator, stands, dugouts, concession stands or practice fields.

Be guilty of publicly discussing with spectators, teammates, or other players in a derogatory or abusive manner, any play, decision, or a personal opinion of any player,  manager, coach, official, or Board Member during any league function or event.

 Speak disrespectfully to any one at anytime at any league function or event.

Challenge an umpires authority.  The umpires shall have the authority and discretion during a game to penalize the offender according to the infraction up to and including expulsion from the game.

Theft of any kind will not be tolerated at anytime and will result in removal from the league without refund.

The Board of Directors will review all infractions of the Code of Conduct.  Depending on the seriousness or frequency, the Board may assess additional disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the league without refund.
