Description: For any Mavericks players who need extra ball work or just feel like playing more soccer, Technical Director Robert Sackey will be offering specialized footwork and skills training every Wednesday during the fall season. He'll be using speed and technical dribbling exercises, ladders, speed rings and hurdles, along with many other techniques aimed at helping our kids develop their quickness, agility, and ball-handling ability. He'll be assisted by one of our most popular trainers, the technically-gifted Niall Irwin.

Supervised by Technical Director Robert Sackey, the clinics will focus solely on developing the skills necessary to put the ball in the back of the net. The clinics will emphasize a number of crucial techniques including:
Shooting: side foot, instep drive, chips, volleys, half-volleys, and headers
The first touch
Dribbling moves
Off-the-ball running
Free kick plays and much more!
Assisting Robert will be some of our best coaches/technical trainers including Andy Waranoff, Laila Nossier, Chris Altieri-Dove, Niall Irwin & Danny Mendoza.
There is no fee to participate, and sessions are available to Mavericks players only.

ACC Mavericks Youth Academy (U8 - U11)
ACC Mavericks Youth Academy (U8-U11)
The ACC Mavericks Youth Academy is our technical training program specifically designed for U8 - U11 players. These clinics are COMPLETE for the Fall 2009 season. Thank you to all who participated.

The Academy will be supervised by Technical Director Robert Sackey. The goal is to help our young athletes develop the fundamental skills necessary to become better soccer players. The Academy will feature small-sided games, individual skill stations, and other exercises designed to be both fun and educational. Assisting Robert will be two of our top coaches/trainers:
Niall Irwin has been coaching in the US for the last year. He holds an E license as well as FAI badges from Ireland. While here, Niall has coached a number of Varsity teams in the bay area including Berkeley High and Head Royce. Niall played three years at the college level and also played professional for four years with Waterford United and Shamrock Rovers respectively in the Irish Premier League.
Danny Mendoza has spent the past four years coaching and training youth soccer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He holds an E/D coaching license as well as numerous other coaching and training certifications. His U.S. soccer coaching experience includes: Butte Community College, Asst Coach, 1997-2006; Butte United Soccer Club, Coach & Trainer, 1993-2005; and Piedmont Hills High School, Varsity Asst Coach, 1996-1999. Danny's playing experience includes four years of varsity soccer at Chico State University as well as seven years as a professional player with the Chico Rooks Professional Soccer Club. Danny "has the passion for helping people achieve personal and team goals by creating a caring, positive, and respectful environment."
