INVITATION TO OPEN TRYOUTS
The tryouts are open to all boys and girls soccer players who are willing to attend practices and games in Alameda and Contra Costa counties administered by the competitive teams that are being formed by ACCYSL. Based on the assessment of skill and aptitude by ACCYSL evaluators, boys and girls will receive offers to join Division I teams that will compete in tournaments during the Spring 2009 season and against other teams from Districts III and IV of the California Youth Soccer Association (“CYSA”) during the Fall 2009 season. Teams may also compete in the NorCal Premier Soccer League, a US Club Soccer sanctioned league providing teams in Northern California Premier Competition. These teams offer the opportunity for serious and dedicated players to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.
Division I teams play at the highest level of competition against teams from both District III and District IV, and are age pure (generally all players are born in the same 12 month period). Robert Sackey (510-697-2392), an A-licensed coach, is the Mavericks Technical Director and will oversee training for all Mavericks teams.
Division III teams play at a slightly less competitive level, against other teams from District IV, and team membership may span more than one age group.
Players on ACCYSL competitive teams develop strong soccer skills and achieve high levels of success within CYSA and high school soccer programs, often qualifying for the Olympic Development Program and moving on to play at Division I, II and III university programs.
DIVISION 1 BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS TRYOUTS FOR THE OLDER AGE GROUPS (UNDER 15 TO UNDER 19)
Tryouts, team formation, and callbacks for the Boys and Girls U15 through U19 teams have been completed.
DIVISION 1 BOYS AND GIRLS U10 - U14 AGE GROUPS
Tryouts, team formation, and callbacks for the Boys and Girls U10 through U14 teams have been completed.
DIVISION III TRYOUTS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS TEAMS
Division III teams are being formed by several ACCYSL clubs. We encourage all players to attend as many competitive tryouts (Division I and Division III) as possible in order to be seen, evaluated, and placed on teams for their appropriate level of skill and play.
