A.C. Baltimore Narrowly Fails to Advance in Rowland Cup

AC Baltimore, formerly AEK Baltimore FC, narrowly missed out on advancement in the Rowland Cup yesterday, January 17, 2010.

Playing in non-stop freezing rain, AC Baltimore took an early lead against Champions Division side Mundo FC off a goal by David Johnson.  ACB held the 1-0 lead for nearly 55 minutes, but Mundo equalized off a well-taken free kick from outside the box. ACB got a bit unlucky five minutes later when a corner kick resulted in a goal mouth scramble and Mundo were able to nick another goal.  ACB battled back hard for the remaining twenty minutes but failed to finish multiple chances.

ACB will play in the first round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in early February.
