AEK Baltimore Overcomes Bad Start with Decisive Three Game Winning Streak!

What does AEK Baltimore FC think about a bad start?  Not a damn thing.

An AEK Baltimore squad, with perhaps too many new players, got off to a rough start in its inaugeral season in the MMSL, dropping twelve points in four matches.  After a few of the new players dropped off the squad, however, the team started to gel and look like its old self.  Now, after three straight wins, including two clean sheets, the black and gold are swaggering with confidence once again.

The defense, with the late Summer additions of Robbie O'Brien and Dimitri Choquart joining with old-timers CJ Ippolito, Mike Murphy and Ryan Reif and keeper Alejandro Lopez, has transformed itself from looking shakey and unsure at the start of the season, to playing organized and cohesive football that is very difficult to break down.

The offense, continuously led by Mario Inacio and Justin Young, has been bolstered by the return of Samora Waluchia and the additions of Jonathan Skeete and David Hysong.  Both Skeete and Hysong have added both pace and muscle to the team attacks.  Combined with Eric McPhee's long-time aerial presence and tireless ability to drop back quickly to help cover and Ossy Enoch's ability to hold the ball up and bring others into play, the team's performances have evolved from tepid at the start of the season to consistently dangerous now.  Joel Goldberg and Justin Young have both moved from their regular positions to take over the wings and have worked the flanks so perfectly that no one is the wiser.

Michael Bride has continued to rehabilitate from a knee injury while keeping the team organized from the sideline.

With a three-game winning streak, the squad is disciplined and up-beat heading into its biggest test of the season: Sunday's match against division leaders Portside FC.
