AAA RED SOX: Welcome
Saturday, February 2WELCOME TO AAA RED SOX SPRING 2008~
Welcome to the AAA Red Sox. We hope you enjoy the Spring season with us. This will be Coach Ed’s first time as Team Manager, but he has been an Assistant Coach for several seasons here and at other parks.
This will be my second time being Team Mom. We both welcome any questions or comments, concerns you may have. Lori 589-8495 Coach Ed 613-2856
We have a few rules that we expect everyone to abide by.
If you are not coming to a game or practice, or you are going to be late call us to let us know. We depend on everyone showing up. If we don’t have enough players for a game, we forfeit that game. If we have a practice or game cancelled, we would call you, we are asking the same courtesy.
Please don’t argue the batting order. We will do our best to let everyone get their chance to bat.
Get to practices on time. We know this may be hard for some. We will be setting up a number system for the kids. They will get a card with a number corresponding to their arrival at practice. This number will let them know when it will be their turn to bat. The sooner they arrive, the sooner they get to practice hitting.
Respect. We expect to have the kids listen. When you do not pay attention, you can get hurt! If we have someone that is having a really bad day, they will have to run a lap to cool off. If this happens during a game, the player will sit on the bench until they have cooled off.
All players should arrive for games in uniform and ready to go. Have them keep their bags packed from practices to be sure they bring all their equipment. We do not have EXTRA items for them to use.
Snacks. We will take turns bringing snacks. Each parent will be assigned a game to bring drinks & snacks. If you don’t have time, you can purchase them from the concession stand for $1.00 for each child. You will need to let them know ahead of time so they can get it ready for you to pick up.
Concession duty. You agreed to this whether you like it or not. Everyone will have to do their turn. IF YOU DO NOT SHOW UP, YOU WILL BE FINED $50.00. This is done by the park. We have no control over it. You may send anyone 18 or older with ID to work for you, or pay the $50.00 to get out of it. Take it up with the concession stand. I will let you know the dates when they tell us.
We will send emails about games & practices. Please check them frequently. Our email address is LAMARCOUX@AOL.COM
We will have gray pants, red socks & belts. For those of you that already have these, you do not have to purchase new ones. I will take orders for those that need them. We can also order parents shirts. I will get you a price as soon as I can. The sooner I collect the money, the sooner I can have them back.
Do not drop your kids off and leave the park! We need to know where you are in case of emergency! This is not a babysitting service. If you have to leave for any reason, put someone in charge of taking responsibility for your child. Also tell the coaches who this person is and how to get a hold of you and what time you will be back..
We are going to need donations for the team. We have to raise $500.00 to give to the park. Anything over that is for the team to use. I have some items being donated for the Spring Festival. We will need volunteers to assist with that and if you work for a company that would like to donate an item for our prize booth, we will use it. Last Fall we had some really nice donations from the Jags, Suns, Jags cheerleaders and others. I have already asked for some more donations from them and I am waiting for their responses. We can also sell baked goods if anyone is interested in that idea. It will be held on March 7. Opening day will be March 8. I have a team fundraiser I have been working on. I will let you know more as the materials arrive.
Lets make this a fun season for all. Everyone working together will make it a great season!
