98 RAGE Finishes First in Mansfield Halloween Tourney
98 RAGE Finishes First
The 98 Flower Mound RAGE finished in First Place beating a formidable opponent in the 98 Tomboys team. Our girls played hard all weekend, and had FUN!! Our sticks were hot, our defense was solid and our pitching was great. We played as a team, won as a team and had fun as a team. Thanks to all the 98 RAGE girls who play with heart and determination game after game. You never give up and that is a valuable lesson - not only in the game of softball, but in life. We are very proud of you all! Congratulations on another 1st place trophy.

98 RAGE Places Second
98 RAGE - 2nd Place
This weekend, the 98 RAGE players finished a heartbreaking second place. The Texas Pride team beat us fair and square - so congrats to them! We know what it feels like to win all kinds of places, but you girls didn't like winning second. Keep your chins up, you played good softball this weekend. Unfortunately, sometimes your best is not enough. Remember the fundamentals practiced week in and week out. We will suffer defeat, but it shouldn't defeat you. Let's show 'em next weekend that 98 RAGE is ready to play our best and hopefully finish on top. Good job, ladies!

RAGE Girls Play 9 Games to Finish 2nd
Our 98 RAGE girls played TOUGH all weekend long in Irving. After losing a tough game on Sunday morning, we played 4 more games back to back until we reached the "Ship." Even though our players toughed it out, played their best and gave their all, we ended up finishing 2nd to our 98 Rip friends. Congrats to the Rip girls for winnning the tournament all the way through the winner's bracket and going 5-0 in the tournament. We are very proud of our girls and the tenacity and perseverance in which they played all weekend. It says a lot about a team who plays from 9:30am on Sunday to 5:30pm on Sunday without any breaks. We are VERY proud of you 98 RAGE !!!!

1st Place Win for 98 RAGE !!!
98 RAGE Wins 1st Place in Mansfield
The 98 Flower Mound RAGE went 5-0 in Mansfield's End of Summer 10U tournament on August 16-17. We thought the rainy weather might disrupt the tournament, but the rain held out until late Sunday evening so everyone was able to finish out the tournament. Our RAGE girls played 5 games and won each of them. In fact, 2 games were shut-outs. Our pitchers were on fire, our defense was sound and our offense picked up from the first to last games. Not only did these RAGE players play a great softball tournament, they had FUN!! While waiting for one of our opponents to get ready and play, our RAGE girls were playing air guitar to "Welcome to the Jungle." Each of the players were using their bats as guitars and rocking out! That is what girls' softball is all about - HAVING FUN! When girls are having fun, they play better as a team. We are so proud of the 98 RAGE players and coaches for bringing home our 1st place trophy - it was well deserved.

98 RAGE -- Mansfield Mid-Summer -- Playin' in the HEAT!!
 | | | Mansfield Mid-Summer - July 12-13, 2008 |
The 98 Rage took the field in Mansfield for the Midsummer tournament, preparing ourselves for Nationals along with some of the best North Texas has to offer. After a couple of early morning pool games we began bracket play under the extreme Texas heat, and a game with Sweet 99. We were fortunate to begin the tournament with our bats on fire as we posted 12 runs in the first, and were able to stay focused and play this game to its conclusion, and win. We then faced a team from South Texas, Lady Rip It, a big talented team who came to compete. The game was close and hard fought, but our girls prevailed with excellent pitching, timely hitting and solid "D". Sunday morning we faced the Young Legends, a sound team who was able to clip us in the end - they came back to take the game and send us into the bracket for teams with a loss. We were once again able to find our bats and generate some offense, and were fortunate to send Shadows 97 home. Our last game of the tournament found us opposing 98 Glory. We were confident, having had some recent success against this talented and gritty team. However, on this day they played the better game, and we were sent home to find some A/C and a pool and cool off. Congratulations for a fine tournament - we enjoyed the competition and look forward to our next encounter on the dirt, where we anticipate more great battles with such great teams. Also, congratulations to those who placed in this very competitive tournament.

Top 7th Finish at USFA 10U B State Tournament
Congratulations to the 98 RAGE Team for finishing with a Top 7 Finish at the USFA State "10UB" Tournament in Conroe, TX on June 21, 2008!! Our girls played a GREAT tournament in the heat and humidity. We lost to a good defensive team in the Katy Cruisers who sent us to the losers bracket. We battled back with an impressive win against a tough 97 RAGE team and set our sites on Sunday. We started off with a nailbiter against the TX Ball Bratz but pulled off a great win in order to face a tough Texas Magic Team. Unfortunately, we lost to the Texas Magic who ended up finishing 3rd in State. Pride and Determination ruled the day and the 98 RAGE was the last N. Texas team standing and the last 98 Team in the tournament. Way to go 98 RAGE!!!!!

2nd Place AGAIN for the 98 RAGE!!! Way to GO!!
98 Flower Mound RAGE AGAIN made it to the Championship game in Southlake during the May 17-18th Touranament. We fought hard against some tough teams and played good when we had to. We stayed up in the winners bracket until we faced a tough Sweeet 97 Team. They gave us our first loss to send us to play a tough 98 RIP team. It was a close one, but our 98 RAGE girls fought hard and won it out to play in the Championship against Sweeet 97. After 13 hours of play on a hot Sunday, we lost to Sweeet 97 to finish 2nd in back to back tournaments. The girls played hard on 3 days and we are SUPER proud of them. Congrats RAGE girls!!!
