Coaching Change Announced

Mike Scobie is officially named the new coach for our team. His email address is: scobiea5@aol.com per the official posting on the Novi Jaguars Website. You may discover additional information about Coach Mike by either emailing him, or exploring the Novi Jaguar club's website. A link to this page is set forth below at the post immediately following this article.

Our team will continue its efforts at practice next week. This is a departure from the club's routine. Next week is set aside by the Jaguars club for pre-tryout practices and is open to all players. Our team will continue its Tuesday & Thursday routine, and Coach Mike may attend Tuesday's session.

Addedly, next week should serve as a time for individual players to receive information about player selection. Solely and strictly per the views of TWC, some extra-ordinary events would need to transpire that would preclude any change in the club's posture about forming our team. Obviously, each family will decide for itself on what is best for the player, but it is foreseeable that those players seeking to return will return. Even though the well-worn admonition that "one never knows what to expect during tryouts" remains a piece of advice.

Lastly, by following the club link, families will comply with our club's prompt to submit, online, tryout registrations. -- TWC.

NOVI JAGUAR CLUB WEBSITE

The Novi Jaguars Soccer Club maintains a website, and it can be found by following the above link. This website assists our team in two ways:

First, the club's home page contains lots of information regarding club-wide activites. These certainly include technical training schedules, camp dates and places, and information about all other teams within our club. This link is an important resource that allows our families to keep abreast of club developments.

Second, the Jag website has a team page link just for our 97 Green team.

It is strongly recommended that readers of this website keep updated on the club website. — TWC

Pacesetter Paces!

Still no word and no schedule about the Pacesetter. The above link is the key to schedule postings. The tournament website predicted that news would arrive by May 1, 2009 about the upcoming event, but nothing has been posted. Seems like that May 1, 2009 announcement date is problematic in more ways than one. — TWC

Laura's Thanks

Dear Jags Family,

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the love and support you all have shown to us during this unbelievable week.  We are so appreciative of all of the cards, phone calls, emails, visits at home and at the hospital, gifts, meals and also the yummy cookie bouquetfrom the team!  Words cannot express how much we appreciated everything...it truly helped us get through this extremely difficult time and we are blessed to be part of this family.

Alex loved coming to watch the girls play on Saturday night and having everyone sign her boot...it was very difficult for her to have to watch from the stands instead of being on the field...especially given how awesome the girls are playing...but she is so optimistic and such a fighter and hard worker...she will start working with therapists and trainers soon and we are confident that she will be back as strong as ever.

We feel it's important for Alex to keep spending time with the girls so we will make sure she gets to games, tournaments, and some practices once she is able to walk in her boot.  She would miss all of you too much just staying at home, so we promised her that we'll keep her as involved as we can for the remainder of the season.

Thank you again for everything and we'll see you again real soon!  GO JAGS!!!

The Cookie Mystery

Alex has received her cookie bouquet, but its arrival created a short-term mystery.

The cookies arrived, but their delivery occurred while Alex brothers — Adam and the loving Aaron — were present in her room. Apparently, the delivery man seemed a bit too pedestrian, leaving Alex wondering just whom had brought such a delight to her room.

The mystery was solved as Alex's father, Gary, discovered, opened and read the card. Obviously, the last activity among the listed three proved the greatest obstacle for Gary, a 1983 graduate of Ypsilanti High.

This report could not be complete without praise for Pam, who inspired the idea for the team to make this delivery to Alex. This proved to hit the right spot in the hearts and minds of Alex's grateful family. — TWC

Shouting Down Brian

Leave it to TMBT, our beloved team manager, to speculate about how Alex's circumstance might produce a benefit to him.

"You know, Alex's mom's dedication to the health and welfare of Alex's recovery, might just distract her from her job collecting team fees," Brian speculated.

The ever-diligent Laura was quick to clarify Brian's speculation: "dream on!" Laura replied when informed of Brian's shameless and self-indulgent opportunism. "I will never be too busy to keep up with Brian," Laura concluded. — TWC

The Ron Kwas Effort

The multitalented Ron Kwas once again pays a dividend. Click on the link above to see Blast Cup pictures.

It requires time and effort to bring these memories to the team, and Ron's tireless efforts are appreciated.

Jags Play Well at Blast Cup

The 97 Jaguars Green team emerged Sunday with a 1-0 loss in the U13 Blast Cup finals. The loss followed three straight shutout victories. And, the loss came only after Novi's GU13 White team won a shutout to determine our division champion. The above link (click on the headline which is underlined above) can help site users navigate to the Blast Cup's website charting the 97 Jaguars Green team. — TWC
